Maker’s Mark Releases Ohio Only Cellar Selections

Together with the Maker’s Mark distillery team, Ohio Liquor (OHLQ) has selected these five unique expressions using custom stave profiles to reflect quintessential seasonal flavors and aromas. From pumpkin pie to apple cider to indulgent red velvet cake, each expression suggests a sweetly nostalgic moment warmed up with woody inflections imparted by oak staves. Bottled with care to make Ohio spirits bright, they are not available outside of our state.

Perfect for gifting or sipping at festive gatherings, each bottle captures the spirit of the holidays — and Maker’s Mark’s signature attention to craft. The product will be released live at a select number of OHLQ locations on November 18, 2022, at a price of $69.99 (plus tax) and will be available until it has sold out.

TASTING NOTES

CREAMY PUMPKIN PIE

A sweet, creamy aroma with hints of nutmeg welcomes the satisfying flavor of pumpkin pie topped with whipped cream. Holiday baking spices crescendo to a rich, viscous finish at the mid-to-back palate.

Stave Profile: Baked American Pure 2 (3); Seared French Cuvée (5); Maker’s Mark 46 (1); Toasted French Spice (1)

CASK CHAI LATTE

The spicy aroma of cinnamon, black pepper, and anise carries through to a rich, creamy, roasted taste; a balanced finish lingers and charms with accents of baking spices.

Stave profile: Seared French Cuvée (6); Maker’s Mark 46 (1); Roasted French Mendiant (2); Toasted French Spice (1)

WARM APPLE CIDER

Aromatic allspice and the bright, honeyed notes of crisp pear and baked apple invite a pie-like flavor of fresh orchard fruit, toasted brown sugar, and cinnamon that finishes warmly at the back of the palate with accents of vanilla.

RED VELVET

An enticing aroma of rich buttercream with hints of chocolate delivers a full-bodied flavor of cocoa powder and toasted vanilla that lands mid-palate and dries to a sweet, dark chocolate finish.

SINGLE STAVE EXPRESSION

TOASTED FRENCH SPICE

The unique, lightly floral aroma of ripe cherry with nutty accents develops to a deeper flavor of dark, dried fruit with hints of leather and tobacco, and finishes sweetly at the front to mid-palate.
