Village Family Restaurant, a beloved cornerstone of downtown Waynesville, is proud to celebrate its 45th anniversary this month — marking over four decades of hearty meals, warm coffee, and cherished community connection.

Founded in 1980, the restaurant has served generations of families, travelers, and locals with its signature comfort food, friendly service, and classic small-town atmosphere. From early morning breakfasts to bustling Sunday lunches, the Village Family Restaurant has remained a reliable, welcoming spot where “everyone knows your name — and your order.”

“This anniversary is incredibly meaningful to us,” said Lacie Sims, current owner of the restaurant. “For 45 years, this place has been more than just a business — it’s been a gathering place, a family, and a part of the fabric of Waynesville. We’ve seen kids grow up, couples get engaged in our booths, and locals who’ve come in every day for decades.”

As the restaurant celebrates this major milestone, the ownership is also announcing plans to pass the torch to a new generation. The business is officially for sale, opening the door for someone with a passion for community, tradition, and food service to step in and carry on the legacy.

“This isn’t a goodbye — it’s the beginning of a new chapter,” said Lacie Sims. “We’re looking for the right buyer who values what this place means to Waynesville and sees the potential for even more great years ahead.” sees the potential for even more great years ahead.”

The fully operational business includes the restaurant’s real estate, equipment, established customer base, experienced staff, and a proven record of success. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Aaron Delidow at [email protected] or 937-232-7439 for more information.

The Village Family Restaurant invites the community to stop in during the month of May to celebrate its 45th anniversary — and enjoy a slice of pie in honor of the past, present, and future.
