Remember those pretzel rods with the caramel, toffee chips and chocolate that you dream about?  Well, this weeks fundraising efforts involve just that pretzel!  20% of all sales of their famous Bellbrook Pretzel will be donated to KMC Foundation for use in local breast cancer screening. This is a great time to stock up ~ these pretzels make great little gifts for Teachers, Hair Stylists, Friends and more!    This discount runs through Oct 15th.

Next week (Oct 16th – 22nd) the family owned business that has operating for 32 years will apply the 20% donation to all boxed chocolate.   Bellbrook Chocolate Shoppe takes pride in their special blend of light and dark chocolates and hand dip all their chocolates.

WEEK 4:  Double Dipped Strawberries! (Oct. 23rd – 31st)
This week, 20% of all Double Dipped Strawberry sales will be donated to KMC Foundation for use in screening for breast cancer for the locally under/served and under/insured.  We can make a difference with early detection!
FYI: October is our last month for strawberries this season.  They will start up again in February! (Just in time for Valentine’s Day!)

You can visit Bellbrook Chocolate Shoppe in the  Cross Pointe Shopping Centre just off of I 675 at 101 E. Alex-Bell Rd., Suite 144, Centerville, OH 435459.  And tell them MostMetro.com sent you!

October 21, 2013 By Dayton Most Metro Leave a Comment

drfrj0pxgklmwtiugey95237vma2b4auBetty Blose, owner of Bellbrook Chocolate Shoppe, located in Cross Pointe Center,  and her staff will host their 14th annual All You Can Eat Chocolate Party this Sunday, Oct 27th from 4-6pm. The workroom counters will be filled with caramels, turtles, chocolate covered nuts and chews, shortbread cookies, peppermint bark, chocolate peanut brittle and more. There is nothing fancy about this event, it’s just hundreds of pounds of chocolate there for the tasting!

If you would like to take some home, you can purchase an empty box and fill it from the chocolate buffet with as many goodies as you can get in it ~ make sure the lid goes on! It’s a fun, casual event and will be helping women and men in our own area——double sweet!!!!

Your $20 admission includes a bottled water, which you’ll need to wash down the chocolate treats. A portion of ticket sales will go to Miami Valley Hospital Foundation for massage therapy to help cancer patients at MVH.

13th Annual All You Can Eat Chocolate Party

October 25, 2012 By Lisa Grigsby Leave a Comment

Once a year The Bellbrook Chocolate Shoppe opens their doors to guests to join them for a  rare opportunity to taste all the sweets in the kitchen of their place at Cross Pointe Center.  This  year it takes place on Sunday, Oct 28th from 4 -6pm.  Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door and will provide mammograms for the under/served and under/insured.
Owner Betty Blose attributes the popularity of her chocolates to the fact that they are handmade with her “signature” blend of milk and dark chocolate to create varieties that include creams, truffles, enrobed and molded items. It’s the only blend sold at the family’s Centerville store, and they use this rich chocolate to create everything from chocolate heart-shaped boxes filled with strawberries dipped in chocolate and cakes made of layers of shortbread cookies, iced with chocolate, to their Bellbrook pretzel, a pretzel rod dipped in caramel, rolled in toffee pieces and finally dipped in chocolate.

Although it seems too good to be true, dark chocolate can actually be good for you! When consumed in moderation, this delicious treat has some powerful health benefits. Following are three of the major reasons to indulge:

1. It can help prevent heart disease: Like tea, dark chocolate contains flavonoids, which are compounds that act as antioxidants. Flavonoids protect cells from harmful molecules—called free radicals—that are produced when the body breaks down food or is exposed to sunlight or smoke. Free radicals can cause cell damage that leads to heart disease. Flavonoids can also lower blood pressure and reduce LDL cholesterol (i.e., the bad cholesterol) by up to 10 percent.

2. It can improve your mood: Dark chocolate stimulates the production of endorphins, chemicals in the brain that bring on feelings of pleasure. It also contains the chemical serotonin, which acts as an anti-depressant.
3. It can protect your skin: German researchers found that the flavonoids in dark chocolate absorb UV light, help protect and increase blood flow to the skin, and improve skin’s hydration and complexion.

For all of its health benefits, though, dark chocolate does contain a lot of calories. So, experts recommend sticking to no more than three ounces of the sweet stuff per day.
