Culver’s Launches New Jalapeño Cheese Curds

Culver’s new Jalapeño Cheese Curds will make their debut on the 10th  anniversary of National Cheese Curd Day (Oct. 15) and will be available in local restaurants until Oct. 31 or while supplies last. This bold twist on Culver’s classic Wisconsin Cheese Curds is made with bits of jalapeño and real cheddar cheese and fried to gooey, golden perfection – bringing just the right amount of heat to balance their crunchy outside and melty center.

This is the second year in a row the national restaurant chain has introduced a limited-time-only Cheese Curd flavor on National Cheese Curd Day. In 2015, Culver’s founded the holiday to celebrate the beloved Midwest delicacy. Now in its 10th year, the holiday continues to encourage curd lovers across the country to embrace the unique and distinctly Wisconsin flavor of cheese curds.

“We’ve always believed cheese curds deserve their moment in the spotlight, and this year we’re turning up the heat,” said Kasey McDonald, Culver’s head of culinary. “Our Jalapeño Cheese Curds bring a new take to a Midwest classic. They’re crispy, melty and just spicy enough to keep you coming back for more.”

“Curdtoberfest is our way of saying, ‘Let’s celebrate cheese curds!’ by taking the spirit of Oktoberfest and adding our own Culver’s twist on the tradition,” said Emily Patterson, Culver’s VP of marketing. “It’s a month packed with cheesy goodness, Midwest pride and a lot of fun.”

Culver’s Now Open in West Carrollton

Culver’s, a Wisconsin based chain, is known for cooking your food only after you order it. Whether it’s a burger, chicken sandwich, or fish dinner, it’s prepared fresh, not sitting under a heat lamp. Famous for its ButterBurgers, which are made with fresh, never frozen Midwest beef, seared to order and served on a lightly buttered, toasted bun.

Culver’s offers rich, creamy frozen custard made fresh in each restaurant throughout the day. It’s denser and smoother than ice cream, with flavors that rotate daily and include, caramel turtle, dark chocolate decadence, salted double caramel pecan, mint cookie and so many more.. You can get this frozen treat in a cone, waffle cone or dish.

Beside burger and custard, you’ll find hand-battered North Atlantic cod, crispy chicken and pot roast sandwiches, corn dogs, fried shrimp, hearty soups, salads, and sides and Wisconsin cheese curds—a fan favorite! There a variety of sides to compliment your meal, including fries, onion rings, pretzel bites, chilli, broccoli, coleslaw, loaded chili fries as well as mashed potatoes and gravy.

Today’s opening of the Culver’s in West Carrollton is the third location for the chain, joining the  Dayton location on Miller Lane, and the Troy eatery, on West Main Street.

“This is more than a restaurant opening — it’s a moment that marks real progress in the River District and what’s to come,” said West Carrollton Mayor Rick Barnhart. “We are excited to welcome Culver’s and celebrate this important milestone with the community. It’s a proud day for West Carrollton and a sign of the great momentum building throughout our city.”

The West Carrollton Culver’s is owned by Jim DiVerde and Chuck Martin, partners in the Illinois-based MD Restaurant Group. Claudio Zeledón Guzman is the owner/operator. Culver’s is known for its ButterBurgers and fresh frozen custard. This restaurant is the first business to open in theRiver District development, a $75 million project that includes retail, dining, entertainment, a hotel, and public recreation spaces.

The CurderBurger Is Back at Culver’s

The CurderBurger started out as an April Fool’s Day joke and became a reality for one-day-only on October 15, 2021 when Culver’s launched the CurderBurger in honor of National Cheese Curd Day. The burger also returned for a limited time last fall.

You can find the CurderBurger at all Culver’s locations nationwide from October 2 through October 31, 2023 or while supplies last.

The CurderBurger features the Culver’s Deluxe ButterBurger topped with a crown of golden-fried cheese, offering a warm, buttery crunch and gooey cheddar in every bite. The cheese crown is made of a blend of yellow and white cheddar cheese curds, all surrounded by crispy seasoned breadcrumbs.

Additionally, this year fans will also have the opportunity to win Culver’s swag when they share a photo of themselves enjoying the CurderBurger on social media. To participate, simply post a photo along with #ReturnoftheCurderBurger from October 4 through October 18, 2023 for a chance to win.
