Visit the 2nd Street Market for a special evening shopping event on Thursday August 10 for Sunset at the Market in celebration of National Farmers Market Week.

Also, in attendance will be local, state, and federal government representatives showing their solidarity for our local farmers. The Market will be open from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM for shopping and sharing in the celebration with activities that include a community craftworking project with 2nd Street Market vendor Chloe Brzozwski from Marie’s B. Mobile Mending. Chloe will be guiding Market goers in the creation of a Farmers Gratitude Quilt that once complete will hang permanently in the Market. Cut-out fabric produce will be the pallet for folks to write and share their love of Farmer’s and the Market, that Chloe will then add to the finished quilt. We hope everyone will participate in the making community art history. You can also participate on the quilt project Saturday, August 12 during normal Market hours.

Throughout the evening there will be live music with a performance by Ramblin’ Rhythm along with a Chocolate & Melon Tasting of peak season melons varieties grown locally by several of the Market Farmer’s. The melons will be paired with single origin sourced chocolates from Market vendor Peace on Fifth. Be sure to join us as we celebrate our Market community and give thanks to our local farmers.
