The Gem City Chorus, Sweet Adelines International continue their tradition of delivering serenades for sweethearts.  For just $40 you can engage a quartet to show up at a location of your request (think workplace, restaurant, hospital or retirement center) and present a flower, card and a special song.  You can also arrange a Ringing Valentine, where a small chorus can deliver a song over the phone to anyone across the country for just $20.

Looking for that special gift for your sweetheart or just want to brighten the day of a friend?  Gem City Chorus will be delivering Singing Valentines in Dayton and the surrounding areas. They can deliver to a work place, home, most restaurants, schools (with permission), and even hospitals, retirement centers and nursing homes. Your special someone is outside the Dayton area? Book a Ringing Valentines that can  be delivered by phone.

Your Singing Valentine includes a personalized card, a small floral arrangement (red rose, baby’s breath, and fern), and a song delivered in person by one of our costumed quartets.

As a more permanent memento of the occasion, they offer pictures and/or a small stuffed teddy bear.  They  also can deliver extra songs and extra flowers.  Reasonable charges apply for these additional options

The base price is $40 for deliveries within their measured radius (bounded on the east and south by I-675, on the north by I-70 and on the west by Rt. 35) and a flexible delivery time.  There are additional charges for deliveries outside the standard delivery area, for exact times and for other special delivery requests.  You can  complete an online form and they will call to confirm your order and accept payment at that time.  Or you can call 937-433-1014 and place you order over the phone.

Gem City Chorus, A Real Hidden Gem in Dayton

gcchorusDayton is full of amazing talent. Some get the limelight, some get grand billing, while others sing for the world to hear collecting awards and accolades quietly. The Gem City Chorus is doing just that.

Gem City Chorus is an international award winning women’s performance chorus that sings in the 4 part Acappella style know as barbershop. Although this is our primary harmony style, the Gem City Chorus sings a variety of music from pop to big band, from musicals to songs from the stage and screen.

Gem City is a member of Sweet Adelines International. This international body represents more than 70 years of singing competition and more than 23,000 members worldwide who sing in choruses like the Gem City Chorus. Dayton’s Chorus of ladies has 14 Medal Winning International performances. These ladies not only sing, but compete at the highest levels. Members can be found in all ages, one member has been performing with Gem City for 55 years!

This women-only group rehearses every week in their own studio space in Centerville. They gather every Tuesday evening for more than 3 hours to perfect the 4 part harmony they are famous for. Women of all ages are encouraged to stop in and learn more about singing a cappella music, barbershop style, and how to become a member of the chorus.
