Indulge In A One Stop Shopping Experience This Saturday at Fairgrounds

November 14, 2019 By Lisa Grigsby

Valerie McKinney-Walker, founder & CEO

Tis the season for holiday shopping and Valerie McKinney-Walker has put together the Ultimate One-Stop Shopping and Indulgence Experience which takes place this Saturday from noon-6pm at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Entry and parking is free!

Indulge is a full day experience with not only 80 + small businesses, free Health Screenings, Glam Services, free massages, Fashion Show, Fitness Demos, Paint-n-Sip, Scents-n-Sip, DIY Santa Workshop, great music, Trotwood YMCA Line Dance Group, the best sweet treats and the most amazing foods from some of the best caterers in Dayton.
Valerie explained how the event was conceived : “A former partner and I were brainstorming, once you have exhausted your circle of family and friends how can you get your business out to the community? It was originally intended just for women to Indulge because women tend to take care of everyone first and will put themselves last.  We wanted to women to Indulge, to be empowered with workshops, to be rejuvenated with spa treatments and be renewed with health screenings. Indulge was born!  As the event grew, men and women are Indulging and being exposed to many, many small businesses within the Tri-City area.”

Valerie shared with us “that In light of the recent tragedies in our city, this November Indulge  has teamed up with the Toys for Tots because we know families are still struggling and we want to help…we want the kids to feel the Christmas spirit. We love for all our guests to come with a toy/book in hand. And, if any families are in need you can apply for the free toys at the event.”

Valerie describes herself “as a very Proud Daytonian, who graduated from Trotwood Senior High School in 1986, happily married for 23 years and Uber-proud Mom of an amazing Son, who is a Junior at Miami University Hamilton. She started her first  business in 2008 Scentsational Gifts, a gift basket business.

“I love helping small businesses grow their business,” and that’s the driving force for Valerie and her team that plan and execute the Indulge event twice a year. She said that “over the past 10 years I’ve learned to not take things personal, it’s all business. To have standards and expectations of your brand and don’t sway from that…remain persistent. If God given you the vision, the path is already drawn out…it will be victorious, you just have to work it. Will there be bumps along the way?, Of course, that’s how you grow and learn.”

Indulge In This Shopping Extravaganza

June 1, 2018 By Dayton Most Metro

Celebrating large and small business owners from the Dayton and Miami Valley Areas, The Indulge Event is attracting the old, new, and very unique business brands and retailers to this shopping extravaganza set for Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Dayton Convention Center.   Nearly 200 of the most unique business vendors will be exhibiting in Dayton.

The expo will open its doors from 2pm to 8pm with countless local small businesses, vendors, bakers, crafters and so much more. Featuring live entertainment with The Deron Bell Band at the V-spot lounge!

“We started the Indulge event in 2009, providing small business owners a platform to showcase and even launch their business. Since then, we have been blessed to grow from 25 vendors/small business owners to over 60-65 exhibitors in 2017 with over 500 public attendees, and now we have over 150 vendors attending this year.

We added The V-Spot Lounge that showcases local talents and spoken word artists and in 2018, we are so humbled to be partnered with a staple, legendary business Icon in the Miami Valley area, WDAO Radio Station,” shares event founder Valerie Mckinney- Walker.

This is an event for every age group, for those that love to shop, love to support small business, or for those just wanting to enjoy a great evening of good food, glam/spa services, health information showcases, and especially The BIGGEST small business expo and pop up shops in the Miami Valley Area.

Admission is FREE! Bring your business Card and drop it in for a chance to win special VIP prizes and more.   While you shop, you can relax and rejuvenate at the spa, explore a new interest at the venture exhibits, purchase a gift, or just connect with friends.  We invite you to indulge yourself with every vendor and enjoy the very best in shopping, fashion, glam services, entertainment, food, travel, cosmetics, silent auction and so much more!
