David Garwood, lead singer of Velvet Crush, a popular party band in Dayton, Ohio, joins with talented guitarist/vocalist, Dave Hurley, (also a band member of Velvet Crush), and vocalist, Dana to offer acoustic music (two acoustic guitars) with three part harmonies. We may on occasion have a percussionist join in. Music includes popular songs from 80s, 90s, and today. We play mostly easy listening, pop, rock, with a few country tunes thrown in for fun.

Over the years, Legends has been a fundraiser for Stuart’s Opera House organized by local community members who performed iconic songs by legendary artists to raise money in support of Stuart’s. The video will feature past Legends performers reminiscing about their favorite moments over the years with one another.
The video will also feature iconic performances throughout the decade, featuring Sharell Arocho-Wise, Angela Blair, Melissa Brobeck, Alex Couladis, Otis Crockron, Demetre Evans, Roger Gilmore, Annah Korpi, Bill L’Heureux, Giles Lee, Scott McDonald, jw Smith, Graham Stewart, Tanyah Stone, Andy Stone Stephanie Tikkanen, Stephen Valentine, Michael Weiser, Joann Wolfe, and Bill Rawlins with the iconic Legends Band!

All proceeds benefit Stuart’s Opera House, the cornerstone of the historic Public Square in Nelsonville, Ohio. Stuart’s is dedicated to its role as a regional leader in the arts community, a center for public expression, and an economic development partner for Southeastern Ohio. Stuart’s Opera House has had its doors closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so fundraisers like this one are vital to keeping our doors open for years to come.

Such A Night: The Last Waltz with the Dayton Philharmonic
It was such a night! In 2018, nearly 30 local musicians gathered on stage to recreate the historic performances of The Band’s The Last Waltz and celebrate the original concert, which took place November 25, 1976. That year they were joined by the Dayton Philharmonic orchestra under the conduction of Neal Gittleman.
Although we can’t safely hold this year’s in person concerts for Such A Night: The Last Waltz Live in Dayton, we can relive our 2018 performance on the radio.
