Many restaurants  are extending their thanks to veterans and active duty military personnel by offering freebies and discounts on Veterans Day. All offers are for November 11th only, unless otherwise noted. Restaurants in red are locally owned!
Here’s where the deals are:

Amber Rose Restaurant  – Always offers military in uniform 10% off their meal

Another Broken Egg Cafe – Veterans and active-duty military get a free Patriot French Toast Combo & Coffee November 11. Available for dine-in only at participating cafes.

Applebee’s  – Veterans and active-duty military can select a free meal from a limited menu on Veterans Day. Proof of service required.

Bagger Dave’s  – Active, nonactive, Reservists, retired personnel and first responders with proof of military identification get one great American cheeseburger and fries on Veterans Day.

BIBIBOP Asian Grill  is giving all Veterans and active-duty military a free bowl on Veterans Day.

Big Boy – Come in on Veterans Day with a valid ID and pick up a voucher for a free future meal. Participating locations only. Limit 200 per store.

Biggby Coffee – On Veterans Day, Biggby Coffee will be offering free brewed coffee for Veterans.

BJ’s Brewhouse – On Veterans Day, all service members can enjoy a complimentary entrée up to $14.95, plus a free Dr. Pepper by presenting a military ID or proof of service.

Blue Berry Cafe – always 10% off and Veteran’s Day we do a Free Signature Platter or up $10 off a single menu item.

Bob Evans –  The chain is offering seven homestyle menu items for Veterans for free on November 11, including country fried steak and crispy fried chicken.

Bonefish Grill – all veterans and active-duty military to dine-in and receive a complimentary Bang Bang Shrimp Appetizer and non-alcoholic beverage with their military ID.

Boston Stoker –  giving away a free 12-ounce cup of coffee as well as $2 off any other drink to all veterans on Friday.

Buffalo Wild Wings Free Wings – All day on Veterans Day, Veterans and active-duty military who dine in or call for takeout at their local B-Dubs can receive a free order of boneless wings and a side of fries. At participating U.S. locations only.

Butter Cafe- 10% off every day of the year.

Chili’s Grill & Bar – All Veterans and active-duty military personnel can choose a complimentary meal from a select menu on Veterans Day.

Clean Eatz –  all veterans and active military members get a free Grab-N-Go meal on Friday from 11 am to 7 pm

Company 7 BBQ 0 Every day of the year, we offer a 10% discount on every entrée, and adult sandwich to active duty military members, veterans, as well as other first responders with proper ID

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store – On Veterans Day, Veterans can receive a free slice of double fudge Coca-Cola cake with their meal.

Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers– Free appetizer under $9.99 for all who have served

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit – Free pulled pork classic sandwich is available this Veterans Day. To redeem in-store, Veterans and current military personnel must present a military ID or valid proof of service.

Duck Donuts – All Veterans and active-duty service members with IDs can get a free doughnut on Veterans Day at participating Duck Donuts locations.

Dunkin’ Donuts – On Veterans Day, Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a free donut at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide, no purchase necessary.

Firebirds –  Complimentary meals to active-duty military and Veterans on Veterans Day.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers – On Veterans Day, receive a card for a free Freddy’s Original Double combo meal. Card is valid through November 30.

George’s Family Restaurant – 25% off for Veterans on Nov 11th

Gold Star Chili – Enjoy a free three-way and drink on Veterans Day. For all who served.

Golden Corral – November 14, 2022
Military Appreciation Night will be held on Monday, November 14 from 5pm – close. Golden Corral will once again be honoring our military heroes with a free “thank you” meal.

Graeter’s Ice Cream – free single dip sugar cone

Hooters – All Veterans who present a military ID or proof of service and purchase a beverage at any participating Hooters location nationwide, will receive a free entrée from a special Hooters Veterans Day Menu (available for dine-in only). The Hooters Veterans Day Menu includes five of Hooters’ most popular entrées:

Logan’s Roadhouse – On Veterans Day, all active-duty military and Veterans are invited to enjoy a free meal from the American roadhouse menu in honor of Veterans Day. This offer is available 3 – 6 p.m. at all Logan’s Roadhouse restaurants nationwide.

Mamma DiSalvo’s– 50% off any dish excluding seafood or veal.

Melting Pot – Veterans eat for free on Veterans Day at select Melting Pot locations with the purchase of regular-priced four-course meals. Veterans must show military IDs.

O’Charley’s – Veterans can get a free meal—a $10 value—at participating O’Charley’s locations on November 11 if they show military ID. O’Charley’s offers a special “Veterans Thank You Menu” that you can choose from.

OinkADoodleMoo BBQ–  is giving veterans a free pork sandwich on Friday.

Olive Garden – This Veterans Day, Olive Garden is offering Veterans and active-duty service members a free entree from a special menu. All entrees include Olive Garden’s famous breadsticks and choice of soup or salad.

Outback Steakhouse – This Veterans Day, all military Veterans and active service members can enjoy a free bloomin’ onion and Coca-Cola.

Park Grille & Bar– always offers 10% off to Veterans

Perkins – Perkins is offering military members a free Magnificent Seven Breakfast Meal this Veterans Day.

Red Lobster – In honor of Veterans Day, and to thank veterans, active-duty military and reservists for their service, Red Lobster is offering guests a free Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, Fries, and Coleslaw, featuring six hand-breaded, butterflied and lightly fried shrimp, served with cocktail sauce, as well as crispy French Fries and Coleslaw. The offer is available for dine-in and To Go orders placed in-restaurant between 11:00am and 4:00pm local time on Friday, November 11, 2022. Starbucks – On Veterans Day, active-duty service members, Reservists, Veterans and military spouses are invited to enjoy a free tall (12-ounce) hot brewed coffee at participating Starbucks stores. this year, Starbucks is expanding this offer to include a free tall (12-oz) iced coffee.

Steve & Tammy’s Tavern is giving veterans a free pizza on Friday.

Submarine House – Veterans come have a free half sub on us! Order your favorite sub, show your server or cashier your military ID, and we’ll take care of it! *offer not valid online, good once per guest check, max value $14.

Texas Roadhouse –  Veterans can drive into the parking lot of their closest Texas Roadhouse and pick up a meal voucher with a valid military ID or proof of service.

Twin Peaks –All Veterans, active-duty military and reservists can eat for free from a select menu on Veterans Day.

Uno’s Pizzeria & Grill – On Veterans Day, all past and present military members get a free entrée or individual pizza with the purchase of a second of equal or greater value.

Wendy’s – Wendy’s nationwide are offering a free small breakfast combo with a valid military ID on Veterans Day. No purchase is necessary.

White Castle – White Castle is offering several free meal options for Veterans Day for those with a military or Veterans ID, including a Free Breakfast Combo or Castle Combo Nos. 1 to 6.

Veterans Day discounts on Retail & Services

Bass Pro Shop Military Discount – 5% off for military and veterans daily, both in-store and online. Verification process is available on Bass Pro Shop’s Website and over the phone.

Bed Bath & Beyond – For active-duty U.S. military, Vets and Spouses, Bed Bath and Beyond is offering 25% off any in-store purchase on November 11, 2022. Call or visit your nearest location for details.

Goodyear Auto Service Veterans Day Deal – The nationwide ‘Car Care Checks for Vets’ promotion runs from Nov. 10-14 and includes free tire, brake and battery checks, plus, an additional 10% off tires and services for active, former and retired veterans in honor of Veterans Day.

Great Clips – Veterans and active-duty military can visit a U.S. Great Clips salon on November 11 to receive either a free haircut that day or a free haircut card to use at a later date. Visit the Great Clips website for details.

Home Depot Military discount – The 10% military discount is available every day for active duty and retirees.

Kohl’s Veterans Day Deal
Kohl’s offers active military, veterans, retirees and their immediate family members a 15% discount on purchases made on Mondays, in-store only.

Lowe’s Military Discount – Lowe’s Companies, Inc. will offer all active, reserve, honorably discharged, retired military personnel and their immediate family members a 10 percent discount on in-store U.S. purchases made during the Veterans Day holiday.

Office Depot / Office Max Military Discount – 25% off qualifying regular and sale-priced in-store purchases, with this coupon and proof of service.

Staples Military Discount – Veterans and active military members will receive 25% off in-store purchases. Offer applies to active-duty personnel, reservists, retired or disabled veterans and their immediate families at all U.S. locations. Must present a valid military ID. Coupon code: 96311

Take 5 Car Wash Veterans Day Deal –  will be offering its signature Pro5 car wash to veterans for free on Veteran’s Day.

Target – Target is offering all U.S. active-duty military personnel, Veterans and their families a 10% discount off the guest’s full basket. To receive the offer, guests must first demonstrate eligibility by registering at www.target.com/circle/military. After eligibility has been verified, an exclusive, one-time use 10% Target Circle offer will be available for the guest to use in-store or online.

Walgreens – November 11-14, 2022 Military, Veterans and their families receive 20% off eligible, regular-price purchases in-store when using myWalgreens membership.

The DAI will waive its suggested general admission fee for furloughed federal employees and one guest when a valid federal ID is shown at the museum’s Guest Services Desk. Museum general admission is always free for college students (with valid ID) and youth ages 17 and under.

 

“We thank our local federal employees and offer them something to do while they are on furlough or working without pay,” said Director and CEO Michael R. Roediger. “This is a very stressful time for these workers and their families, and we hope they are able to enjoy a relaxing, tranquil break in our galleries. Federal employees and their guests are welcome to visit as often as they like through the end of January. If the shutdown continues past the end of January we will extend this offer.”

2018 Tax Day Specials, Freebies & Deals in Dayton

Preparing your tax returns may not be the most enjoyable effort — and that has companies trying to leverage that sentiment with the increasingly common “tax day freebie.”

National and local businesses are rolling out discounts and deals on April 17, this year’s deadline for filing federal tax returns. Their goal is to offer benefits to help “stressed-out taxpayers,” said Carson Yarbrough, savings expert at Offers.com.

Here are the deals we found:

Applebee’s: Get $1 margaritas, which the chain calls the Dollarita, through April 30.
BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse: The day after Tax Day is the chain’s Free Pizookie Day. Get a free Pizookie with a minimum $9.95 food purchase Wednesday.

Chuck E. Cheese families can enjoy a guaranteed return  (Tue, 4/17 – Thurs, 4/19) offer: Buy any large pizza, get one large cheese pizza free. U.S. only.

Firehouse Subs  is inviting guests to stop by to receive a free medium sub when they purchase a full price medium or large sub, chips and a drink (valid Tuesday, April 17 through Thursday, April 19, 2018). Please click here for a link to the offer.

Hardee’s wants to ease the pain of Tax Day in the U.S. and  is offering customers a free Sausage Biscuit on April 17, 7-10 am, local time, courtesy of its new “Tastes Like America” campaign. Each Sausage Biscuit contains a sausage patty on a freshly baked Made from Scratch Biscuit. Piada Italian Street Food will be giving away its giant blackberry lemonade for free at all locations (with any purchase) on Tax Day (April 17) . This day will also kick off an online preview of Piada’s upcoming Spring + Summer menu.

Quiznos is celebrating tax day by offering a 10.40 percent deduction off any purchase including catering, on April 17 to new or existing Toasty Points loyalty app members at all participating U.S. locations. Also, Quiznos fans who download the Toasty Points loyalty app will receive a free 4-inch sub upon download.

Sonic Drive-In: Get half-price cheeseburgers Tuesday. Limit five per customer at participating locations. Also every day after 8 p.m., Sonic has half-price shakes, floats and ice cream slushes.

 

Office Depot and OfficeMax. Purge the paper, clear the clutter and protect privacy, with free shredding services at all Office Depot and OfficeMax retail stores, March 18 – April 28. Customers can bring in up to five pounds of documents to shred free of charge and redeem the offer in-store by printing a coupon, available here or by showing the online coupon to a retail store associate via their mobile device.

Memorial Day Freebies 2017

Memorial Day is coming up on Monday, May 29 and we wanted to be sure you were aware of the various deals available both nationwide and in the Dayton area.

Just a reminder – Memorial Day is a day to remember those who have died in service to our country. While it’s obviously very worthwhile to thank all who have served, this day is not the same as Veterans Day which is in November.

That being said, there are plenty of freebies and deals available to active duty military as well as veterans, and even some for regular old folks.

Hooters is giving out free meals for military members and veterans that include the choice of entrees such as wings, sandwiches, salads, and burgers.

Veterans and active military members can get a free lunch or dinner from McCormick & Schmick’s on Memorial Day, no purchase necessary.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill invites you to treat a hero to a free meal on Monday by offering  a free entree equal to or less than your purchase, for dine in only.

Outback Steakhouse is offering 15% off for military families through July 4th.

O’Charley’s has a BOGO for the military on Memorial Day.  Veterans and active military get a free entree from the $9.99er menu with the purchase of another meal

 

Fun Deals

Kings Island – free admission May 26th through May 29th for active military and retired. ID required. Can also buy admission at a special price of $32 for up to six family members at the park.

Score a free Annual Pass for free admission to National Parks nationwide. This freebie is offered year-round for current U.S. military and their dependents.

Shopping Deals

Lowe’s Home Improvement– 10 percent off for veterans and their families on military holiday weekends and every day for active military and families with ID.

Cabela’s Active military, retired military, active reserves and VA-recipient men and women receive a 5% discount every day, plus they have Hometown Heroes event dates each year.

Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores- Military service members and eligible family members save 10% off your total purchase with proper ID.

Michaels- Present your military ID card at the register to save 15% off your entire purchase every day

Sam’s Club – Active military, veterans, military personnel and military spouses get a $15 or $25 gift card when joining or renewing their membership through July 31st.

Yankee Candle – Active and retired military personnel receive a 10% discount every day on every purchase.
