World Refugee Day

World Refugee Day Celebration This Saturday

June 28, 2018 By Dayton Most Metro

Welcome Dayton will honor and recognize Dayton’s refugee community by celebrating World Refugee Day on Saturday, June 30. The event will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 1001 Harvard Blvd., from 11 am to 3 pm, with free admission.
It will include performances from Burundian, Sudanese, pan-African youth, Vietnamese and other groups, there will be food “tasting stations” from 5 different countries, Khmericano Coffee in the afternoon, performances, children’s activities, and an international fashion show! Everything is FREE and open to the public.  For more information, call 333-1413 or go to welcomedayton.org
World Refugee Day was established by the United Nations as an annual celebration honoring the courage, strength, and determination of women, men, and children who are forced to flee their homes under threat of persecution, conflict, and violence.
