AIRPEX 2024, hosted by the Dayton Stamp Club, is Aug. 23-24 at the IBEW Union Hall, 6550 Poe Ave. Show hours are 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Admission and parking are free.
“We will have 18 stamp dealers this year and displays of non-competitive exhibits by our club members,” said show chairman Mike Komiensky.
According to Dennis Callison, bourse chairman, the club held its first annual philatelic exhibition at the Dayton Convention Center, designated DAYTON AIRPEX I. A special envelope honoring Prof. George de Bothezat, inventor of the first Army helicopter, was sold for $1.50 in conjunction with the show. The Dayton Daily News described AIRPEX I as “unique,” because it featured only air mail stamps and stamps honoring aviation.
AIRPEX 2024 show covers will be available for purchase in person or by mail with a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Directions; take I-75 to Exit 59 onto Benchwood Road. The Union Hall is at the intersection of Poe Avenue and Space Drive. Enter at the center doors only.
