Yonder Mountain String Band, Railroad Earth, and Leftover Salmon Coming to The Rose
Relix and Music & Event Management, Inc. are proud to presentYonder Mountain String Band, Railroad Earth, and Leftover Salmon live on stage at Rose Music Center at The Heights on Friday, August 11. Come see three legendary bands together each playing full sets. The order of the bands changes every night and is not announced in advance, so be sure to arrive early for the not-to-be-missed jam-grass event of the summer!

YONDER MOUNTAIN STRING BAND
Innovative and exuberant, controversial and uncompromising, Yonder Mountain String Band spearheaded a musical movement in Colorado and carried its new language of progressive roots music to countless fans worldwide in a 25-year career that shows no signs of slowing down.
With one foot in the bluegrass world and the other in the jam-band world, the band has weathered the scrutiny of the bluegrass establishment and come full circle with a Grammy Nomination for Best Bluegrass Album for their 2022 release, Get Yourself Outside, co-written by founding members Adam Aijala (guitar), Ben Kaufmann (bass), Dave Johnston (banjo) and newest member, Nick Piccininni (mandolin, fiddle, banjo), who joined the band in early 2020.
Artistic collaboration and musical discovery are a thick thread of inspiration and ambition within Yonder Mountain and in recent years, the band has tapped into an energy, reminiscent of the early years, when they changed the bluegrass landscape.
No one band can be said to have invented jam-grass, but the movement and sound – the most commercially successful vein of bluegrass music over the past 25 years wouldn’t exist as it does today without them.
RAILROAD EARTH
For over two decades, Railroad Earth has captivated audiences with gleefully unpredictable live shows and eloquent and elevated studio output. The group introduced its signature sound on 2001’s The Black Bear Sessions. Between selling out hallowed venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO, they’ve launched the longstanding annual Hangtown Music Festival in Placerville, CA and Hillberry: The Harvest Moon Festival in Ozark, AR—both running for a decade-plus. Sought after by legends, the John Denver Estate tapped them to put lyrics penned by the late John Denver to music on the 2019 vinyl EP, Railroad Earth: The John Denver Letters. Beyond tallying tens of millions of streams, the collective have earned widespread critical acclaim from David Fricke of Rolling Stone, American Songwriter, Glide Magazine, and NPR who assured, “Well-versed in rambling around, as you might expect from a band named after a Jack Kerouac poem, the New Jersey-built jam-grass engine Railroad Earth has let no moss grow under its rustic wheels.”
LEFTOVER SALMON
Few bands stick around for thirty years. Even fewer bands leave a legacy during that time that marks them as a truly special, once-in-lifetime type band. And no band has done all that and had as much fun as Leftover Salmon. Since their earliest days as a forward thinking, progressive bluegrass band who had the guts to add drums to the mix and who was unafraid to stir in any number of highly combustible styles into their ever evolving sound, to their role as a pioneer of the modern jam-band scene, to their current status as elder-statesmen of the scene who cast a huge influential shadow over every festival they play, Leftover Salmon has been a crucial link in keeping alive the traditional music of the past while at the same time pushing that sound forward with their own weirdly, unique style.
In their fourth decade as a band, Leftover Salmon is showing no signs of slowing down, continuing to create new music in the studio. The band now features a lineup that has been together longer than any other in Salmon history and is one of the strongest the legendary band has ever assembled. Built around the core of founding members Drew Emmitt and Vince Herman, the band is now powered by banjo-wiz Andy Thorn, and driven by the steady rhythm section of bassist Greg Garrison, drummer Alwyn Robinson, and dobro player & keyboardist Jay Starling. The current lineup is continuing the long, storied history of Salmon which found them first emerging from the progressive bluegrass world and coming of age as one the original jam bands, before rising to become architects of what has become known as jam-grass and helping to create a landscape where bands schooled in the traditional rules of bluegrass can break free of those bonds through nontraditional instrumentation and an innate ability to push songs in new psychedelic directions live. Salmon is a band who for more than thirty years has never stood still; they are constantly changing, evolving, and inspiring. If someone wanted to understand what Americana music is they could do no better than to go to a Leftover Salmon show, where they effortlessly glide from a bluegrass number born on the front porch, to the down-and-dirty Cajun swamps with a stop on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, to the hallowed halls of the Ryman in Nashville, before firing one up in the mountains of Colorado.
Tickets will go on sale to the public beginning at 10am on Friday, March 17 atTicketmaster.com and RoseMusicCenter.com.
Train Pulling Into Huber Heights This August
Fresh off the heels of their incredible sold out Sail Across the Sun cruise, Train is set to light up summer stages, bringing fans an epic night of music filled with the band’s most iconic hits spanning nearly three decades. The Diamond-selling band will return to Huber Heights, OH for a performance at Rose Music Center on Tuesday, August 29 with support from very special guest Parmalee.

Train is a multi-GRAMMY and Billboard Award-winning band from San Francisco that has had 14 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 list since the release of their debut self-titled album. Train’s climb to the top began in 1994, as the original 5-member band tenaciously built a loyal hometown following, leading up to their debut album, released by Columbia in 1998. The tumbling wordplay of “Meet Virginia” gave them their first unlikely radio hit and 2001’s Drops of Jupiter broke them to multi-platinum status thanks to the double-Grammy Award-winning title song that spent 10 months in the Top 40, has been certified 7x platinum in the US, and earned the 2001 GRAMMY Award for Best Rock Song. The group won another GRAMMY Award in 2011 for their global hit “Hey, Soul Sister” from their multi-platinum album Save Me, San Francisco. “Hey, Soul Sister ” was the No.1 best-selling smash and most downloaded single of 2010, achieved RIAA Diamond status in 2021 and now 11x platinum, and in 2022 surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. Train has sold more than 10 million albums and 30 million tracks worldwide, with multiple platinum/gold citations, including three GRAMMY Awards, two Billboard Music Awards and dozens of other honors. They’ve had 12 albums on the Billboard 200 albums chart with their 2014Bulletproof Picasso reaching No. 4 in 2012 and 2017’s a girl a bottle a boat debuting at No. 8. “Play That Song,” the lead single from a girl a bottle a boat, went platinum in four countries including the U.S., hit Top 5 on the US iTunes chart, Top 10 at Hot AC radio, and charted at Adult Top 40. Train’s highly anticipated 11th studio album, AM Gold, was released on May 20, 2022.
Train frontman, Pat Monahan, partakes in other ventures outside of music, including his award-winning wine portfolio, Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co, which was created in 2011 and has sold over 10 million bottles and won over 100 medals. Proceeds from his wine business support Family House, a San Francisco charity that supports families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Monahan has appeared on television and in film with credits that include the 2021 Hallmark Channel original movie, Christmas in Tahoe, inspired by Train’s album of the same name, which he executive produced and starred, Dr. Ken, 90210, CBS’s Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I., The Voice, American Idol, and The Bachelor.
Also on the show, ACM “New Vocal Duo/Group of the Year” nominee Parmalee is one of Country music’s most successful acts: the Platinum-selling band of brothers is one of only four groups since 2001 to earn three consecutive Top 10 singles from a debut Country album. Since their debut at Country radio, Parmalee has earned over 1 billion on-demand streams. Heralded as “Country Music’s Breakout Stars” by MSN Entertainment, Parmalee has supported Brad Paisley and Jake Owen on national tours while finding time to perform on NBC’s TODAY show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Late Late Show, FOX & Friends All American Summer Concert Series, MLB Central’s Studio 21, The Queen Latifah Show, and more. Comprised of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas (lead vocals/guitar and drums, respectively), cousin Barry Knox (bass), and life-long friend Josh McSwain, the North Carolina natives had a legendary return to the top of the charts with their PLATINUM-certified No. 1 single with Blanco Brown, “Just the Way,” with their follow up single, “Take My Name” from their new album For You, then becoming a multi-week No. 1 hit at Country radio. Their latest single “Girl In Mine” is available now.
Tickets will go on sale to the public beginning at 10am on Friday, March 17 atTicketmaster.com and RoseMusicCenter.com.

The Rose announces Santana, Skid Row and Straight No Chaser Shows
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Carlos Santana has announced he will hit the road with his band across North America this summer for the 1001 Rainbows Tour. Stops include Huber Heights, Ohio for a performance at Rose Music Center on Tuesday, June 27. Throughout, Santana will perform high-energy, passion-filled songs from their fifty-year career, including fan favorites from Woodstock to Supernatural and beyond.
Delivered with a level of passion and soul equal to the legendary sonic charge of his guitar, the sound of Carlos Santana is one of the world’s best-known musical signatures. For more than five decades – from Santana’s earliest days as a ground-breaking Afro-Latin-blues-rock fusion outfit in San Francisco – Carlos Santana has been the visionary force behind artistry that transcends musical genres and generational, cultural, and geographical boundaries.
Hot on the heels of their Spring co-headline ‘The Gang’s All Here’ tour, Skid Row and Buckcherry are thrilled to announce a second leg of dates consisting of 14 additional shows! The two bands will be hitting the road for the first run on March 9 with performances ramping up again for the fall starting on August 31. The tour will continue throughout the month of September, stopping in Huber Heights, OH for a performance at Rose Music Center on Wednesday, September 6.
Skid Row recently released their 6th studio album, The Gang’s All Here, in October of 2022. Produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz, the album reached Top 20 chart positions in nine countries worldwide. The band also completed a tour of the U.K. and Europe this fall, as well as a Las Vegas residency with rock icons, the Scorpions this past spring. Fans can get the new album HERE!
This past year, Buckcherry completed a 238-show tour in support of their latest album Hellbound, released in June of 2021. The band also just finished recording their 10th studio album in Nashville with producer Marti Frederiksen. The album is scheduled for a June 2023 release.
Dig out your deck shoes: RIAA-certified Gold a cappella group Straight No Chaser will set sail this summer on “The Yacht Rock Tour,” sparking sing-alongs to classic 80s songs of summer throughout the US.
Kicking off in Vienna, VA, the voyage winds its way through the US, docking in Huber Heights, OH for a performance at Rose Music Center on Saturday, July 1. Chart-topping yacht rock pioneers Ambrosia(“How Much I Feel,” “Biggest Part Of Me,” “You’re The Only Woman,” and “Holdin’ On To Yesterday”) will join as support.
In addition to the tour, Straight No Chaser will release a full-length album, Yacht On The Rocks, a trove of yacht rock classics, on June 23. Produced by Nicholas Niespodziani, singer, guitarist, and spiritual leader of Yacht Rock Revue, the album will include classics like “Escape (The Piña Colada Song),” “Sailing,” and “After The Love Has Gone.” The first single, a reworking of Kenny Loggins’ “Heart to Heart,” is set for release March 10.
“What could possibly sound more like summer than yacht rock?” said group member Steve Morgan. “We can’t wait to hit the road and celebrate the season of leisure with our fans. Grab a frozen beverage and beat the heat with us, reliving the decade of cool tunes and smooth sailing.”
Tickets will go on sale to the public beginning at 10am on Friday, March 3 for all three of these shows at Ticketmaster.com and RoseMusicCenter.com.

Funk & Reggae Team Up for Show at The Rose
Psychedelic funk sextet Lettuce and legendary roots reggae band Steel Pulse will unite on a three-week-long coheadlining summer tour for 13 unforgettable shows. They will stop in Huber Heights, OH for a performance at Rose Music Center on Saturday, July 8. Each band will present a full set with support by professional big wave surfer-turned-musician Makua Rothman.

Tickets will go on sale to the public beginning at Noon on Friday, February 24 atTicketmaster.com and RoseMusicCenter.com. The summer tour will feature VIP exclusive pre-show hangouts with both bands, group photo opportunities with both bands, exclusive Steel Pulse & Lettuce collaborative merchandise, and more. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit:http://ffm.to/lettucesteelpulsetour
Both projects are coming off remarkable years and active spring schedules leading up to the summer tour. 2022 saw the release of Unify, Lettuce’s eighth studio album that got the endorsement from legendary funk icon Bootsy Collins who guests on vocals and bass on the anthemic lead single “Keep the Funk Alive.” The group has maintained an active schedule on the road supporting the release of Unify and will have racked up appearances at Jam Cruise; Backwoods Music Festival; a 3-night residency at the celebrated Blue Note Jazz Club in NYC; and a very special performance with the Louisiana Philharmonic and Tower of Power during Jazz Fest before uniting with Steel Pulse.
Formed in 1975, Steel Pulse has amassed 9 GRAMMY nominations and one win throughout their storied career. One of the nominations was for their latest studio offering, Mass Manipulation, which reflects on four decades committed to bettering mankind through music.
The band will trek through club dates with Orange County-based, cross-cultural reggae band Common Kings; a pair of shows in Hawaii; an April 20th show at Red Rocks Amphitheater with The Marley Brothers; an appearance at São Paulo, Brazil’s Encontro das Tribos Festival alongside Wiz Khalifa, Ice Cube & more; and a one-off show in Martinique’s Mizik Nou Live Festival prior to hitting the road with Lettuce.
What may seem like a sonically contrasting pairing on paper excites each project as they cite the co-billed tour as an opportunity to introduce each band to one another’s fan base every night instilling a sense of curiosity and enlightenment. David Hinds, lead singer and guitarist of Steel Pulse, draws comparisons to the group’s 1981 tour with Average White Band. “It’s an experience of going into the unknown that we ourselves first encountered touring with Average White Band 42 years ago,” he says, “I know it left us being far more knowledgeable musicians; tapping into different forms of arrangements.”
Hinds’ mention of Average White Band brings an even more full circle nature to the tour as Adam Deitch, drummer of Lettuce, performed with AWB on drums for three years after studying at Berklee School of Music. As Deitch continues to carry the torch and has solidified himself as one of today’s most revered drummers, he echoes Hinds’ sentiments of anticipation, “It’s a complete honor to be sharing the stage with a legendary band like Steel Pulse. They are powerful musical shamans and we look forward to such a spiritual experience.”
Dwight Yoakam Joins The Rose Summer Lineup
GRAMMY Award-winning country music star Dwight Yoakam is teaming up with genre-defying group The Mavericks and rising alt-country rockers 49 Winchester for a performance at Rose Music Center at The Heights on Thursday, August 3.

Dwight Yoakam has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, and he is a 21-time nominated, multiple GRAMMY Award winner. He has 12 gold albums and 9 platinum or multi-platinum albums, with five of those albums topping Billboard’s Country Albums chart and another 14 landing in the Top 10. Nearly 40 of Yoakam’s singles have charted on Billboard, with 14 peaking in the Top 10. Yoakam is a recipient of the Artist of the Year award from the Americana Music Association, the most prestigious award offered by the organization, he will be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in the Songwriter/Artist category at the 49th anniversary Gala on October 14, 2019 in Nashville, TN.
Yoakam’s self-curated SiriusXM channel, titled Dwight Yoakam and The Bakersfield Beat ‘Where Country Went Mod’ launched in April of 2018. The channel celebrates the Bakersfield sound and those whom it has inspired. Guests have boasted the likes of Post Malone, Lukas Nelson, Beck, Chris Hillman, Jakob Dylan, Mike Nesmith and Mickey Dolans, Dave Alvin, and Jackie DeShannon, among others.
In 2016, Yoakam released his bluegrass album Swimmin’ Pools, Movie Stars… on Sugar Hill Records. Featuring a band of bluegrass luminaries, this album boasts a collection of reinterpreted favorites from his catalogue, as well as a cover of Prince’s “Purple Rain”. Produced by nine-time GRAMMY winner Gary Paczosa (Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton), Jon Randall (songwriter of “Whiskey Lullaby”), and Yoakam himself, and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge, this album reflects the love for bluegrass music that Yoakam developed at an early age in Kentucky and that has inspired him for many years thereafter. In 2018, Yoakam released two songs, “Pretty Horses” and “Then Came Monday” (the latter written with Chris Stapleton).
In addition to his musical career, Yoakam is a formidable film and television actor who has appeared in over 40 feature films, including Sling Blade and Panic Room. Most recently he was on the big screen in Clint Eastwood’s latest film, Cry Macho. He recurred in David E. Kelley’s Amazon series Goliath and appeared in director Steven Soderbergh’s film Logan Lucky with Channing Tatum and Daniel Craig.
The Mavericks, the eclectic rock and country group known for crisscrossing musical boundaries with abandon, has gone through three distinct phases since it was founded in Miami in 1989. An initial period of heady success marked by big hits and critical acclaim in the ‘90s. A long hiatus starting 2003 when the musicians each went their own way. And finally, a triumphant reunion in 2012 which held long enough for them to recently celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary.
Now, The Mavericks have ushered in the fourth phase of their evolution with the #1 Billboard debut of their first-ever, all Spanish album, En Español, released on the band’s own Mono Mundo label. Although all 12 tracks are in Spanish, as the title suggests, the collection represents a diversity of musical styles and cultural traditions, from tender boleros to brassy mariachi to reimagined Afro-Cuban classics. Seven of the tunes are familiar gems drawn from the vast Latin American songbook, while five are originals written or co-written by Malo.
Like the band’s entire body of music, this one album cannot be boxed into a single category. The songs are as diverse as Latin America itself, and as cohesive as the ideal of the American melting pot. To season this rich musical paella, The Mavericks add their signature country/rock/Tex-Mex flavors and a refreshing spontaneity to the mix. En Español flips the band’s usual fusion formula, which adds a striking assortment of genres – salsa, ska, norteño, mariachi, and much more – to its sturdy rock/country base. Now, the foundation is solidly Latin with streaks of irreverent rock and twangy guitars running through it, all branded with the unmistakable Mavericks style.
Tickets will go on sale to the public beginning at 10am on Friday, February 24 atTicketmaster.com and RoseMusicCenter.com.
