Serial entrepreneur James Williams celebrates the first anniversary of his Flying Pig Tavern in Fairborn.  Williams played with the Dayton Rugby Club, who eventually merged their team with an Air Force Team called the Flying Pigs, which is where the name for the bar came from.  Featuring Soft Tip Dart machines
as well as Steel Tip Dart Boards, a free pool table and Friday night karaoke make for a great draw and folks come from all over, according to Williams.  Growing up in Riverside, a lot of his Stebbins High School buddies have become regulars.

Over the holidays Flying Pig hosted a Tips for Toys promotion and they ended up raising $25,000 and were able to purchase 70 Bicycles and numerous other toys, which were given away on Dec 23rd to over 1000 families in need.

“We just love helping people, helping families, and kids. It’s just an amazing feeling in your heart to be able to help people,” James Williams, the owner of Flying Pig said.

While working full time on the flight line as and air craft servicer at WPAFB, Williams opened his first location in 2009 in Dayton the Double Deuce Bar, After selling it to children’s Hospital, he purchased and opened the Double Deuce Family pizzeria in Huber, Heights, Ohio.  He sold that location a week after the epidemic hit with Covid and it was torn down and they built a New Shell gas Station.
This is Williams 3rd Location.  His first location opened in  2009 in Dayton, across from Childrens Hospital,  the Double Deuce Bar.
After selling it to the Hospital, he purchased and opened the Double Deuce Family pizzeria at 5186 Brandt Pike (State Route 201)  in Huber, Heights in February of 2018. He bought the 4,031-square-foot restaurant fully equipped. It had formerly been C’s Pizza. He sold that location a week after the epidemic hit with Covid and it was torn down and they built a New Shell gas Station.
He took a break for a couple years before he and Ray Fulton, bought the Fairborn property.  The location was formerly known as The Afterburner Lounge. After a few months of being open Williams bout out Fulton and became 100% owner of the Flying Pig.
Flying Pig features 5 signature pizza’s, small and large or you can build your own.  Prices range from $9-$22 depending on toppings. They claim its the best pizza in town.
They look forward to hosting their bike night again this summer, which will become Two Wheel Tuesday.

Owning Jokers Comedy Cafe for 20 years taught Lisa to maintain a sense of humor under pressure. She credits Leadership Dayton for exposing her to the amazing assets of the region and Clothes That Work for being her reason she stayed in Dayton. Her proudest accomplishment as a past president of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association was creating Restaurant Week, a twice a year tradition that continues to grow and benefit local charities as well. As a foodie, it's only natural that she continues to promote local restaurateurs with DaytonDining.

As a Dayton Catalyst, her desire to have ONE community calendar and advocate for the amazing assets of the region helped create the vision for the relaunch of DaytonMostMetro, now Dayton 937.com
