You’ll find legendary sweets, like Bourbon Salted Chocolate-Covered Bacon and Maple Bacon Donuts, as well as game day cravings, including Cajun Bacon Sausage and Bacon Ranch Cheeseball. Don’t forget about the oh-so delicious Bacon & Cheddar Stuffed Portobello Mushroom as well as the DLM Coffee Bar’s Smoked Maple “Bacon” Latte.

At Jack’s Grill, you can order from from their curated menu or pick any protein from their impressive Meat and Seafood case and they’ll grill it at no extra charge. Available at all three locations. During BaconFest, add bacon for free to any Jack’s Grill, Naples-Style Pizza, or Sandwich Station order.

They’ve even posted bacon recipes you can make at home that include pork tenderloin with bacon-whiskey caramel glaze, Bacon-wrapped dates, bacon cheddar scones and maple & sriracha glazed bacon.

In what’s become an annual tradition for Dorothy Lane Market, Baconfest is back!  DLM celebrates at all 3 locations with a weekend-long event, 11 am to 4 pm Saturday, Jan. 27, and Sunday, Jan. 28.

As you stroll through the grocery store to the sizzling smell of bacon, sampling stations will be set up where you can graze on free samples of DLM’s BLT, Bacon Jam, Boozy Bacon Barbecue Sauce, Bacon flavored Chocolate, Pizzas with bacon, bacon salsa and so much more!

Some things to look for:

DLM UNCURED BACON

DLM chose duBreton Natural Pork to make their own bacon. DuBreton, a Canadian supplier of this top quality pork, adheres to strict principles which include environmental stewardship, natural growing practices, and the humane treatment of animals. Their animals, which are raised on small family farms, are fed 100% vegetarian feed and are given no antibiotics or growth promotants, ever! Varieties of DLM Uncured Bacon include Hickory-Smoked, Cherrywood-Smoked, Applewood-Smoked, Peppered, Jalapeño, Certified Organic Applewood, or Turkey.

VOSGES MO’S MILK CHOCOLATE BACON BAR

Sulfite-free hickory smoked bacon is baked in small batches before it is hand chopped into fine nibbles. Alderwood smoked salt exudes a campfire aroma and perfectly offsets the sweetness of the chocolate.

TERRAPIN RIDGE FARMS HATCH CHILE BACON RANCH DIP

Don’t limit yourself on the endless possibilities of this sauce. Use as a dip for chips, veggies, or finger food, or add atop a sandwich or grilled fish.

KETTLE BRAND MAPLE BACON POTATO CHIPS

Kudos to Kettle Brand for developing this unusually flavored potato chip. A hint of smokiness erupts after opening the bag. Located in Waynesville, Seasonal Selections produces salsas with no preservatives or fillers that can obscure the natural ingredients. Their bacon salsa starts off with a sweet, smoky flavor, and ends with a mild touch of spice. Makes a great topper for baked potatoes or omelets.

DLM MAPLE BACON GELATO

DLM Maple Bacon Gelato is made in small batches just 28 pints at a time. We start with our delicious DLM 100% Pure Maple Syrup and DLM’s nitrate- and nitrite-free uncured bacon cooked to a crunchy finish. Each is then mixed into an artisan gelato made 2.5 gallons at a time on imported gelato machines from Italy. The sweet, smoky flavor is addictive!

New this year, a Bacon Brew will be available on tap, brewed by Crooked Handle Brewing Co. So be sure and stop by Dorothy Lane Market this weekend and experience the joy of bacon.

Bacon Fans Will Go Hog Wild at DLM’s Baconfest

BaconfestImageBacon-lovers—step right up! For the third year, Dorothy Lane Market’s Baconfest celebration will be happening at all three DLM locations 11 am-5 pm on both Fri, Jan. 30 and Sat, Jan 31.

 

The local Dayton specialty grocery store is always known for having everything from the daily staples to the very best, and bacon is no exception. At Baconfest 2016, DLM will be debuting bacon-infused goodness throughout the store where bacon is the shining star (think 25+ bacon- laced products and 10+ tasty demos).

 

As visitors make their way through each store, there will be a variety of WWDW7b4IAiZIBECrhdraMFSH42tPcxtevZN7bcTHBmcproducts marked with Baconfest insignia DLM (think Sugar & Spice Bacon Salsa, Hot Pepper Bacon Jam, and DLM Maple Bacon Gelato). Plus, the DLM Bakery is joining in on the excitement with Chocolate Covered Bacon-Uncured Hickory Smoked Bacon dipped in chocolate ganache and then drizzled with white chocolate ganache and DLM caramel. Then, finished with a bourbon-smoked sea salt.  And they’ll be introducing Bacon Cheddar Pull-Apart Bread there. You’ll find bits of DLM Uncured Bacon nestled in a buttery, eggy, cobblestone bread made at our DLM Bakehouse.

 

Plus, for the first time, representatives from the Flying Pig Marathon will be onsite at Baconfest during select times and store locations to answer questions and register runners for the Flying Pig Marathon!
