Springboro Holiday Promotion Begins Today!

The Springboro Community Foundation has announced a special event that will take the place of
the 34th Annual Christmas in Historic Springboro this year. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and the safety of attendees and vendors, the original festival has been
cancelled and rescheduled for 2021.

The “12 Days of Christmas in Springboro” offers an event passport that encourages participants to visit businesses around the city of Springboro; Warped Wing, Crooked Handle, Heather’s Cafe, Mr. Boro’s Tavern and The Barrel. With any food or drink purchase, participants will receive a stamp and three stamps will enter them into a grand prize drawing for a 65” 4K TV provided by Custom Connections Audio Video and a collection of (23) $25 gift certificates from the Historic Downtown Springboro shops ($575 Value). The winner will be announced on Tuesday, November 24th.

This twelve-day holiday event begins on Wednesday, November 11th and will run until Sunday, November 22nd. Bus transportation will be available to each of the five businesses the weekend of Friday, November 20th through Sunday, November 22nd. Social distancing and responsible drinking will be encouraged.

The 12 Days of Christmas in Springboro passports are available beginning TODAY at the Chamber from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (available until 11/10). You can also purchase at the Chamber on 11/5 and 11/10 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Passports are $1 and the Children’s Passports are FREE!

Passports are $1 and the Children’s Passports are FREE. Proceeds from the passports go directly to support three local organizations: SCAC, The Pantry serving Franklin, Springboro & Carlisle and Operation Santa through the Springboro Police Department.

Visit 3 businesses and you’ll be entered to win the GRAND PRIZE: A 65″ 4K TV provided by Custom Connections Audio Video, Ltd. and (23) $25 Gift cards ($575 Value) from the Shops in Historic Springboro.

Mr. Boro’s Tavern to Open Tuesday, March 14!

After being vacant for almost 2 years, the space  495 N. Main St. in Springboro will soon become the home of  Mr. Boro’s Tavern!  The space has quite a history, having originally been opened as Mulligan’s Wine & Stuff in 1998, then an ownership change and it was renamed Grapes of Ruth and run by Ruth Hagedorn, and then in November of 2007 it morphed into Bella Vino with another ownership change.  Serveral managment changes later it shut down in late spring of 2015.

Current Owners Rick Baarlaer and Marci Johannes have spent months redesigning the space, moving the bar to be the centerpiece of the building and turning it into a neighborhood sports tavern with a farmhouse rustic look that serves tavern style food…everything baked …nothing fried. Pizza’s, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, daily lunch specials and more. According to their facebook page they’ll be specializing in craft beers, bourbon, specialty drinks, and wine and will be open daily from 2:00 pm – 2:30 am.

They’ve set their grand opening for Tuesday March 14th and will party all through the St. Patrick’s day, even opening at 9am on Friday for their first ever St. Patrick’s Day bash.
