CO-OP Fest brings Friday night fun, food and music to support Gem City Market!

On Friday, October 25th, The Yellow Cab Tavern is excited to host CO-OP Dayton for their second annual CO-OP Fest, presented by IUE-CWA. With support from local labor unions and independent, cooperative, and employee-owned businesses, CO-OP Fest is a celebration of Dayton workers and cooperators. It is also a fundraiser for the Gem City Market incubator, Co-op Dayton. The event features some of Dayton’s finest food trucks, bands, poets, worker and cooperative initiatives, raffles, and games!

The musical acts include some seriously funky bands!

6:30pm – Deron Bell Band
8:00pm – Premium Blend Music
9:30pm – Freakquency

There will also be a tap takeover at the Yellow Cab’s bar with Fifth Street Brewpub, Dayton’s own Co-Op Brewery!

Founded in 2015, Co-op Dayton is committed to incubate cooperative businesses to bring sustainable jobs to Dayton and address Dayton’s food crisis through the Gem City Market co-op.

Cover starts at 5pm with food trucks and meet & greet

6pm the spoken word performances and live music begin.

$15 at the doors / $10 for Gem City Market co-op members.

Whatever you call yourself, Dayton certainly offers lots of options for beer lovers.

Hop Picking Party

Fifth Street Brewpub   August 8 @ 6:00 pm

It’s fresh hop time again! The folks from Little Miami Farms are ready to supply us with freshly picked hops for this year’s fresh-hopped beer. We need your help picking the hops from the bines tonight at 6pm. You pick, we’ll supply you with 1/2 off FSB beers. (Rain or shine we will pick so Darren can brew with the hops the following day.)

The Steam Plant  August 10 @ 7:00 pm  $75

FestivAle will highlight Dayton’s booming craft beer culture! Guests will be able to get a taste of the diverse beers Dayton has to offer from several local breweries.  Along with enjoying savory sips of craft beer, you will also indulge in delicious food samplings while perusing the silent auction and dancing the night away.

Come to the Friday Night Biergartens at the German Club Edelweiss the first four Friday nights in August! Live music provided by Frank Svet the first two weeks and by Steve Makofka the last two weeks. A different dinner will be available for purchase each week. Brats, metts, desserts and beverages will also be available for purchase each week.

Dayton Brew Tour

 

Meet at Eudora Brewing Company    August 11 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm   $65

Each tour will visit three local breweries. We will spend approximately 40 minutes at each location. We’ll set you up with a flight of beers (four 4oz samples) at each brewery, so you’ll get a taste of what each brewery is doing. Feel free to order a pint of your favorite, or get a growler to go and we’ll keep it cold for you on the bus!

Your ticket includes bus transportation, beer samples at each stop as well as snacks, a shared growler or two and water on the bus.

Drink up and help Dayton Diabetes

Big Brews and Blues for Diabetes, is back!  2016 marks the  7th annual fundraiser, and it is going to be bigger and better than ever.  The event features incredible blues music, and dozens of beers to taste.    Dayton Most Metro will host one of the booths and will be pouring beers into the night…  Food Adventures is proud to again be participating in the event.

Chef House, The Big Ragu and Hungry Jax love this event because 100% of the proceeds go to Dayton Diabetes.  This is the blues and beer festival you want to support, because of where the money goes and because it is for a great cause.

 

HERE’S THE SKINNY:

—WHEN: Big Brews and Blues is Saturday May 21st from 5-9 PM with a VIP hour from 4-5pm

 

—WHERE: Five Rivers MetroPark’s RiverScape Pavillion

Funky Blues, with a Horn Section

— WHY: To raise money for Dayton Diabetes while having a great time.

— COST: $35 presale

      $40 at the door for regular admission

      $50 for VIP admission, which gets you in one hour earlier, plus some additional tasting tickets.
