Dayton Dinner Theater announces 2022-2023 Schedule

Get excited, The Dayton Dinner Theater is back with its much-awaited interactive movie party season for 2022 – 2023! It’s a great way to spend time with family and friends when the days are short and nights are long. Make the most of it by sipping the sublime themed drinks with your loved ones, while flaunting your movie-themed attire. What more do you need when you can have classic movies, gourmet food, and specially concocted drinks to enjoy with your friends, family, or that special someone?

What to expect from a Dayton Dinner Theater event? First off, make sure you indulge in the creatively themed food provided by Brock Masterson catering. While you indulge in the delicacies, you can feast your ears to live music and soundtrack presentations featuring acts by the likes of The University of Dayton Jazz Ensemble and acclaimed musician and producer Denny Wilson.

A big improvement from year’s past is the themed cocktail selections.The Brightside’s new Bar Manager, Suzy Switzer, has come up with a whole range of delicious offerings.

That’s not all. As it’s an interactive movie party, organizers will feature famous interactive quote and fun participation activities, pop-up fun facts, and our not-so-famous, but equally entertaining, theme-spotting drinking game. Enjoy some lip-smacking-themed desserts while you’re at it! To add the cherry on the cake, there are special surprises for the top costume contest participants.

The annual movie series commences on Wednesday, November 30 with an all-time holiday favorite movie Elf at The Brightside Music & Event Venue from 6-9pm.

Our Frequent Chocolate Eater’s series is at it again! Our Monster Chocolate Pairing class creates magical gastro combinations with amazing single origin bean to bar craft chocolate from some of the most fantastic origins and makers in the world.

Our theme for October: Olives and Herbs.  Your ticket includes:

Chocolate flavor wheel, palate cleanse, tasting instruction, and 5 monster chocolate pairings (with a surprise or two). Tickets are available at eatmorechocolate.eventbrite.com and on Fridays at 2nd Street Market at Peace on Fifth.

Our June Monster Pairing that took the “bean”: Grilled Pear with Ricotta, local honey, Fresh Mint from urban farm Mission of Mary Cooperative and 80% snacking cacao from Honduras from Good King.

Our July Monster Pairing that took the “bean”: Vegan S’mores made with grilled pineapple with 70% Chocolate from Ecuador with wasabi from Conexion Chocolate,Dandies Vegan Marshmallows topped with wasabi Microgreens from Dayton Microgreens a vendor at long standing 2nd Street Market.

Bar Granada reopens downtown with eclectic cultural events!

Bar Granda, the new bar and restaurant at the corner of Main & Monument downtown, has rebranded itself and reopened with an exotic flair! The decor and menu have been refreshed with a warm and cozy Mediterranean vibe, and food coming from the Latin Arepas Truck (indoors). They are equally as proud of their craft tequila menu, as their delicious mocktails for those choosing to stay sober.

The other big change to the venue is the addition of curated pan-cultural events. This Friday, they start their “Last Friday” series with The Dayton Salsa Project, who performs live Latin music (salsa/merengue/bachata/bolero) for your listening and dancing pleasure. Not sure how to dance Latin style? Watch and learn, and start with the merengue! You’ll be swaying your hips in no time. 9pm-12am. $10 cover. 21+

Later this summer, they are hosting a very special evening on Wednesday August 28th with The Flamenco Company of Columbus. Enjoy food, music and dance in a format rarely seen in Dayton – flamenco! Tickets include tapas & wine before the performance and dessert and Cava before final performance. What a wonderful cultural experience that will be! 7-10pm. $48 via Eventbrite. 21+
