Brian Culbertson – FUNK! TOUR Coming to The Rose

May 8, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

Contemporary Jazz/R&B/Funk musician Brian Culbertson is coming to Huber Heights, OH this summer. See him live with special guest WAR at Rose Music Center on Sunday, August 20th.

Brian Culbertson is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist, writer and producer who crosses genres between contemporary jazz, R&B, and funk. Heralding from the musically rich city of Chicago, he began his musical studies at the early age of 8 on piano and quickly picked up several other instruments by age 12 including drums, trombone, bass, & euphonium. Inspired by the great R&B/Jazz/Pop artists of the 70’s like EWF, Tower of Power, Chicago, David Sanborn, and others, Brian Culbertson started composing original music for his 7th grade piano recital and hasn’t stopped having self-produced 16 solo albums, most of which have topped the Billboard Contemporary Jazz charts.

Having worked and performed with countless industry all-stars like Michael McDonald, Chris Botti, Ledisi, Barry Manilow, Herb Alpert, Natalie Cole, Chuck Brown, and Bootsy Collins just to name a few, Brian has received numerous awards including being nominated for a 2012 NAACP Image Award and a 2012 Soul Train Award. Also in 2012, he founded the Napa Valley Jazz Getaway now in it’s 6th year.

Brian is always striving to push the boundaries of the jazz scene, which is evident by his recently released, Funk! album. This new set is a throwback to the stanky P-Funk records from back in the day combining infectious bass lines, greasy horn licks, sing-a-long hooks and of course, landing hard on the ‘One.’ This record is also a follow-up to his widely successful Bringing Back The Funk album from 2008, which was co-produced by the late Maurice White of Earth, Wind & Fire.

Regardless of his success, fans can be rest assured that with the 16 albums and counting, Brian Culbertson always brings his very best – and brings the very best out of others – in all his broad-ranging musical endeavors.

Tickets for the Huber Heights show will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, May 12th at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, and the Rose Music Center box office. Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000. *Ticket prices include parking and are subject to applicable Ticketmaster fees.

Listen To The Music of The Doobie Brothers At The Rose

April 24, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

Rock and roll legends The Doobie Brothers are set to perform at Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, OH on Saturday, September 23rd.

Born out of Northern California’s chaotic, late-1960s musical stew, The Doobie Brothers’ rugged, real and authentic approach to rock and roll made them biker bar stalwarts. But their self-titled debut album in ’71 went beyond just leather and motorcycles, revealing even more musical layers; sweet three-part harmonies and rootsy, introspective, acoustic flavors.

The Doobie Brothers’ legacy has been built upon not just hit records, but also an unrivaled commitment to musical integrity and a steadfast allegiance to their enthusiastic fan base. The bands ability to evolve in a constantly changing industry and connections to generations of listening audiences is a testament to their craft.

The Doobie Brothers were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004, have won four GRAMMY® Awards and sold more than 48 million records worldwide (including three multi-platinum, seven platinum, and 14 gold albums). Their 1976 Best of the Doobies has sold more than 12 million copies, earning rare RIAA Diamond status. Their No. 1 gold-certified singles “Black Water” (1974) and “What a Fool Believes” (1979) lead a catalog of hits that includes “Listen to the Music,” “Jesus Is Just All Right,” “Rockin’ Down the Highway,” “Long Train Runnin’,” “China Grove,” “Take Me In Your Arms,” Takin’ It to the Streets,” “Minute by Minute,” “You Belong to Me,” and “The Doctor.” In all, The Doobies have tallied five Top 10 singles and 16 Top 40 hits.

The Rose to Host Willie Nelson & Family

April 17, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

Country music icon Willie Nelson will team up with special guest Dawes for a not-to-be-missed concert at Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, OH on Tuesday, July 11th.

ABOUT WILLIE NELSON

With a six-decade career and 200 plus albums, this iconic Texan is the creative genius behind the historic recordings of Crazy, Red Headed Stranger, and Stardust. Willie Nelson has earned every conceivable award as a musician and amassed reputable credentials as an author, actor, and activist. He continues to thrive as a relevant and progressive musical and cultural force.

In recent years, he has delivered more than 10 new album releases, released a Top 10 New York Times’ bestsellers book, again headlined Farm Aid, an event he co-founded in 1985, received his 5th degree black belt in Gong Kwon Yu Sul, headlined the last three years of the on-going Luck Reunion food and music festival at his ranch in Luck, TX during SXSW, announced the launch of his cannabis company Willie’s Reserve, and graced the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.

In 2015, Nelson added “It’s A Long Story: My Life,” the unvarnished and complete story of Willie, hit bookshelves and landed him on the New York Times’ bestsellers list; and a new studio album with Merle Haggard titled Django And Jimmie, which debuted at #1 on Billboard‘s Country album chart and #7 on Billboard‘s Top 200 album chart. In November 2015, the Library of Congress honored him with their Gershwin Prize for Popular Song for his contributions to popular music. He is the first country artist to receive the distinguished award. And 2016 began with the release of Summertime: Willie Nelson Sings Gershwin, a collection of 11 newly recorded Gershwin classics. The album debuted at #1 on both the Top Current Jazz chart and the Top Traditional Jazz chart, as well as earned him a Grammy Award for the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. In September, came For the Good Times: A Tribute to Ray Price, an album of newly recorded interpretations of 12 Ray Price songs. While a month later, Nelson released Pretty Paper, his new novel inspired his classic holiday song of the same title about a legless man who sold wrapping paper in front of a Ft. Worth, TX department store.

In April 2017, Nelson releases God’s Problem Child, his latest studio album with 13 new songs. Nelson continues to record more new songs for upcoming projects as well as touring throughout North America year long.

ABOUT DAWES

After recording its last two albums, Stories Don’t End and All Your Favorite Bands, in Asheville, North Carolina, and Nashville, respectively, the Los Angeles band has returned to the city that has been both home and inspiration since its inception in 2009 to record its fifth album, We’re All Gonna Die, with longtime friend and Grammy nominated producer Blake Mills at the helm.

It was clear from the onset that home was much more than a physical place for Dawes. It was a state of mind. For the band-guitarist/singer Taylor Goldsmith, drummer Griffin Goldsmith (Taylor’s younger brother), bassist Wylie Gelber, and new keyboardist Lee Pardini, who took over from Tay Strathairn last fall-it also meant getting to a point where everyone felt they had found a sound that was uniquely their own, equivalent to an author finding their own voice.

“The dream has been not to have someone say, ‘You sound like Warren Zevon in this song or Bob Dylan with this song,’ but where someone hears a first few notes of a track, even before the words come in, and they know it’s Dawes,” says Taylor Goldsmith. “And they say, ‘That’s Wylie, that’s Griffin, that’s Taylor, that’s Lee. That’s the way they play together.'”

“I think we’ve finally done that on this record.” All of their records seemed to have been in service to getting to that point, each album willfully different, every one a point on a continuum. First, the acoustic-based folk-rock and close harmonies of North Hills that brought to mind nothing so much as the Band’s Music From Big Pink. The cosmic country-rock of Nothing Is Wrong, an album that conjured up visions of Gram Parson’s Nudie suits. The smart, wordy, Joan Didion-inspired Stories Don’t End, then the literate, post-breakup yowl of All Your Favorite Bands, with its crisp lyrics and Dire Straits guitars, masterfully capturing their live genius in a way none of their other albums had.

We’re All Gonna Die is dense with stories and brilliant, telling images that are more like movies than four-and-a-half-minute songs, all containing a moral, a proverb, advice or hope, like a scrap of paper tucked instead a Chinese fortune cookie, nudging listeners towards understanding, clarity, or at best, enlightenment.

Tickets for the Huber Heights show will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, April 21ST at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, and the Rose Music Center box office. Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000.

ABOUT BONEY JAMES

Over 25 years James has racked up sales of more than 3 million records, four RIAA gold albums, four GRAMMY nominations, a Soul Train Award, nominations for two NAACP Image Awards and 10 CD’s atop Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Albums chart. ABOUT MORRIS DAY & THE TIME

Born in Minneapolis, Day went to school with Prince Rogers Nelson and sang in Prince’s first band Grand Central. Prince grew as an artist and so did the opportunity around him. The Time was originally created as Prince’s alter-ego to be seen as the cool, street-wise funk band contrasting Prince’s more soulful R&B sound. After looking at several lead vocalists, Prince wanted someone with mad talent so he cast his high school friend, the funky, the fabulous Morris Day. Soon after, Morris Day and the Time were cast in Purple Rain which captured the exploding Minneapolis music scene at its peak.

Morris Day burst onto the public scene with the group’s self-titled album, The Time, which included “Get It Up,” “Cool,” and “Girl.” Soon after the world was introduced the prolific Minneapolis music marvel, the group went on to record three more albums, including What Time Is It? (featuring the hits “777-9311,” “Wild and Loose,” “Walk,” and “Gigolos Get Lonely Too”) and Ice Cream Castle, (which included the hit “Jungle Love”). After three albums, Morris Day launched his solo career, releasing three albums: The Color of Success, Daydreaming, and Guaranteed. Combined sales of Morris Day’s solo work and The Time is in excess of 10 million units.

O’Jays Bring Their Love Train To The Rose

April 3, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

The O’Jays are hitting the road with the same electrifying energy they’ve had for over 50 years bringing the sound that formed the soundtrack for the lives of several generations to Huber Heights, OH at Rose Music Center on Wednesday, June 28th.

Walter Williams and Eddie Levert first met when they were the ages of 6 and 7 respectively. As teenagers in Canton, Ohio, they formed a band originally consisting of Eddie Levert, Walter Williams, William Powell, Bobby Massey and Bill Isles. In 1963, the band took the name “The O’Jays” in tribute to Cleveland radio disc jockey Eddie O’Jay. Several members have changed, but the core, original lead singers Eddie Levert and Walter Williams, continue to front the group.

In 1972, Gamble & Huff, a team of producers and songwriters with whom the O’Jays had been working for several years, signed the group to their Philadelphia International label. With this magic formula, often called The Sound of Philadelphia, The O’Jays scored the first number 1 and million-seller, “Backstabbers.” Subsequently, they succeeded with various chart-topping pop and R&B singles including “Love Train”, “Put Your Hands Together”,  “For The Love of Money”, “I Love Music”, “Darlin’ Darlin’ Baby (Sweet, Tender, Love)”, “Livin’ For The Weekend” and “Use Ta Be My Girl.” This success propelled The O’Jays to be the first black vocal group to perform in arenas throughout America during the 70s and 80s.

Eddie and Walter have a rare lifelong bond that few of us will ever experience; friends and partners for almost 65 years. “We still appreciate our friendship, dedication to each other and the group and our love for good music.” Walter continues, “We probably could have had great solo careers, but I don’t think either one of us could have ever have been as big as The O’Jays.” Walter Williams could be considered a hero as he has battled Multiple Sclerosis or “MS” for 30 years and continues to execute his dance moves with perfection when performing on-stage with the group. Walter is also a volunteer National Ambassador for the MS Society and a spokesperson for MS Active Source. Eddie Levert is known for his raspy voice and has a range that takes him from alto to second tenor. Levert teamed up with his son Gerald for a duet on “Baby Hold On To Me”, which hit number one on the R&B charts. Eddie has also mentored his very successful sons Gerald and Sean who became major forces in the music industry.

The O’Jays were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2005 and honored with BET’s Life Time Achievement Award in 2009. In 2013, they were inducted into The Official R&B Music Hall of Fame. Today, the songs of The O’Jays are still being used in many movies, commercials and TV shows. “For The Love of Money” continues to be the theme song for “The Apprentice.”

Eddie Levert Sr., Walter Williams Sr. and Eric Nolan Grant, who joined the group in 1995, continue to thrill fans today. Throughout their career The O’Jays have achieved 10 Gold albums, 9 Platinum albums and 10 #1 hits. It’s been a long journey but thanks to the fans the LOVE TRAIN is still going strong!

Tickets for the Huber Heights show will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, April 7th at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, and the Rose Music Center box office. Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000.

Boston With Joan Jett & The Blackhearts Coming To The Rose

March 6, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

Music legends BOSTON continue their Hyper Space Tour this summer with the iconic JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS, for an additional 21 cities including a stop in Huber Heights, Ohio at Rose Music Center on Saturday, July 8th.

Always a huge crowd pleaser with their high-energy stage show, other-worldly sound, and exceptional musicianship, BOSTON prides itself on performing a totally live show, delivering an extraordinary experience that is faithful to their studio recordings.

Unlike most bands at the time, all of BOSTON’s albums were conceived in a basement, written, produced and recorded by Tom Scholz, an MIT graduate who designed specialized equipment to capture the songs that he heard in his head. Scholz created his music with the intention of playing it live, in real time with real musicians, making it one of the few bands in history to reproduce seemingly-impossible-to-perform productions on stage, without the use of prerecorded music or technical enhancements.

The timeless songs appeal to young and old alike, so it’s not surprising to see concert audiences that span generations. Fans can expect to hear the classic songs they have grown to love, and will be treated to wild Hammond organ work, soaring guitars, and exceptional vocal harmonies, and be treated to BOSTON’s unique visual stage presentation, from mind-blowing lightning bolts and spectacular lights to an interstellar “journey” from the cockpit of the BOSTON spaceship, along with plenty of extra-terrestrial sounds heard nowhere else on earth.

It’s been over 40 years since BOSTON’s self-titled debut album first hit the airwaves and turned the world on to a new kind of sonic experience. With over 17 million copies sold, Boston generated hits such as “More Than a Feeling,” “Peace of Mind,” “Foreplay/Long Time,” and “Smokin’,” rock staples that are still in heavy rotation today. Their second album, Don’t Look Back was another chart-topper that confirmed their place in rock history, followed by Third Stage, which hit #1 on the charts, with the top single of 1986, “Amanda.” Walk On, Corporate America, and Life, Love & Hope complete the band’s discography. With over 31 million albums sold to date, BOSTON has stood the test of time.

Scholz says, “I am thrilled to have Joan and her band on tour with us this summer.  Not only is she an amazing rock and roll performing artist, but even more exciting to me is that she is a fellow vegetarian and shares compassion for animal welfare.”  Both Scholz and 30-year BOSTON veteran Gary Pihl have been longtime vegetarians.  Scholz has worked to promote that lifestyle as well as the prevention of cruelty and suffering to all living creatures.

Continuing their effort to promote humane treatment for animals, one dollar from each ticket purchased this summer will be donated to Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, who are committed to ending the slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans, as well as Mercy for Animals, who utilize a broad range of strategic approaches that seek to expose cruelty, prosecute abusers, and inspire consumers to make compassionate food choices.

Joan Jett is a true originator, an innovator, and a visionary. As the leader of the hard-rocking Blackhearts, with whom she has become a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, she’s had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including the classics “Bad Reputation,” “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll,” “I Hate Myself For Loving You,” and “Crimson and Clover.” She sits at the head of her own independent label, Blackheart Records. Jett has acted in movies and television, including 1987’s Light Of Day, and in a Tony-nominated Broadway musical, The Rocky Horror Show. She has appeared on such acclaimed television shows as Oprah (the last season) and Law and Order. As a producer, she has overseen albums by Bikini Kill, Circus Lupus, as well as the Germs’ LA punk masterpiece, GI.

Since co-founding The Runaways, the pioneering all-girl punk quintet at age 15, Jett’s determination and drive have kept her in the public eye. Jett was able to see her story told in The Runaways, the film based on (lead singer of The Runaways) Cherie Currie’s book Neon Angel starring Kristen Stewart as Jett, and Dakota Fanning as Currie. Jett was close to the project: She served as an executive producer. Jett & the Blackhearts released their last studio album, Unvarnished in 2013 and continue touring the globe to throngs of adoring fans.

Tickets for the Huber Heights show, $102.00*, $84.00*, $72.00*, and $24.50* will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, March 10th at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, and the Rose Music Center box office.

The Temptations & The Four Tops Coming To The Rose

February 21, 2017 By Lisa Grigsby

The Temptations are teaming up with The Four Tops for a not-to-be-missed co-headline show at Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, OH on Friday, June 30th.

For more than fifty years, The Temptations have prospered, propelling popular music with a series of smash hits, and sold-out performances throughout the world.

The history of The Temptations is the history of contemporary American pop. An essential component of the original Motown machine, The Temps began their musical life in Detroit in the early sixties. It wasn’t until 1964 however, that the Smokey Robinson written-and-produced “The Way You Do The Things You Do” turned the guys into stars. An avalanche of hits followed, “My Girl”, “It’s Growing”, “Since I Lost My Baby”, “Get Ready,” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg”, “Beauty Is only Skin Deep”, and “I Wish It Would Rain”, just to name a few.

The classic lineup was Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin. Beyond the fabulous singing, The Temps became known for smooth stepping and flawless presentations. The Temptations Walk became a staple of American style. Flair, flash and class. Millions of fans saw their Temptations as cultural heroes.

No matter the change in personnel, The Temptations remain true to The Temptations tradition. They survived the whims of fashion, whether disco or techno, and stuck to their guns. The current lineup consists of: Otis Williams, Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, Larry Braggs, Willie Greene Jr.

The Four Tops,  quartet, originally called the Four Aims, made their first Motown hit, “Baby I Need Your Loving” in 1964, made them stars and their sixties track record on the label is indispensable to any retrospective of the decade.

Their songs, soulful and bittersweet, were across-the-board successes. “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch),” a no. 1 R&B and Pop smash in 1965, is one of Motown’s longest-running chart toppers; “It’s The Same Old Song” (no. 2 R&B/no. 5 pop), no. 1 “Reach Out I’ll Be There,” “Standing In The Shadows Of Love” (no. 2 R&B/no. 6 pop) and “Bernadette” (no. 3 R&B/no. 4 pop). Other Tops hits include “Ask The Lonely,” “Shake Me, Wake Me (When It’s Over),” “Something About You,” “You Keep Running Away,” “7-Rooms Of Gloom” and many more.

“The Four Tops will always be one of the biggest and the best groups ever. Their music is forever.” – Smokey Robinson

Tickets for the Huber Heights show, $57.00*, $50.00*, $40.00*, and $23.50* will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, February 24th at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, and the Rose Music Center box office. Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000. *Ticket prices include parking and are subject to applicable Ticketmaster fees.  Dates, times and artists subject to change without notice.

The Beach Boys & The Righteous Brothers at The Rose

February 13, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

The Beach Boys will return to Huber Heights, OH at Rose Music Center on Friday, July 28th with special guest The Righteous Brothers.

You can capsulize most pop music acts by reciting how many hits they’ve had and how many millions of albums they’ve sold.  But these conventional measurements fall short when you’re assessing the impact of The Beach Boys.  To be sure, this band has birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold albums by the tens of millions.  But its greater significance lies in the fact that it changed the musical landscape so profoundly that every pop act since has been in its debt.

Happily for us all, The Beach Boys continue to create and perform with the same bold imagination and style that marked their explosive debut over 50 years ago. Their 2013 Capitol Records release, Sounds of Summer (RIAA certified triple platinum with over three million in sales and climbing), and it’s companion The Warmth of the Sun marked a resurgence in Beach Boys interest that has again rocked the world.

Grammy-winning songwriter Bruce Johnston, [Barry Manilow’s “I Write the Songs”], joined The Beach Boys in 1965, replacing Glenn Campbell, who filled-in for Brian Wilson, on vocals/bass, when he retired from touring.

The Beach Boys are founding member Boy Mike Love (lead vocals) and Beach Boy-vet Bruce Johnston (vocals/keyboards)—Jeffrey Foskett (guitar/vocals), Brian Eichenburger (bass/vocals), Tim Bonhomme (keyboards/vocals), John Cowsill of The Cowsills (percussion /vocals) and Scott Totten (guitar/vocals) round out the band.

Tickets for the Huber Heights show, $62.00*, $52.00*, $47.00*, and $23.50* will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, February 17th at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, the Rose Music Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.  Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000. *Ticket prices include parking and are subject to applicable Ticketmaster fees.  Dates, times and artists subject to change without notice.

John Legend brings his Darkness and Light Tour To The Rose

February 6, 2017 By Lisa Grigsby

Acclaimed, multi-platinum selling, Oscar, Golden Globe and 10x Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter John Legend has announced dates for his highly anticipated North American tour, Darkness and Light Tour.  Hitting a number of major cities throughout the US, including at stop in Huber Heights, OH at Rose Music Center on Monday, June 12th, the multi-city trek will feature Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Gallant as the opening act.

The tour announces on the heels of Legend’s fifth studio album Darkness and Light, which has received a plethora of critical praise since its December 2nd release on Columbia Records.  USA Today hailed the album as John’s “most personal record” with tracks like “Right By You” which they described as “a heart –tugging rumination on his 7-month old daughter, Luna.”  Time Magazine called the body of work “unflappably classy”while the New York Times said Legend “treats love as something far more complex than a panacea and a fount of perpetual reassurance, with music to match.”  Continuing, the New York Times pointed to the album’s most recent anthemic hit single, “Love Me Now”, which they praised as “a seize the moment song”, that“revolves around an insistent, lo-fi piano figure, and its chorus first arrives with Mr. Legend nearly alone, singing over simple, fading chords”.

As a special bundle promotion, every pair of tickets fans purchase online will include the option to get a copy of the Darkness and Light album.  More details are available through the John Legend website.

Throughout his career, Legend has worked to make a difference in the lives of others. In 2007, he launched the Show Me Campaign (ShowMeCampaign.org), an initiative that focuses on education as a key to break the cycle of poverty. The 2010 BET Humanitarian of the Year award, the 2009 CARE Humanitarian Award for Global Change, the 2009 Bishop John T. Walker Distinguished Humanitarian Service Award from Africare and the 2011 Harvard Foundation Artist of the Year Award recognize Legend’s efforts and leadership in this arena. John sits on the boards of The Education Equality Project, Teach for America, Stand for Children and the Harlem Village Academies and co-chairs the Harlem Village Academies’ National Leadership Board. Additionally, Legend supports LRNG, a movement dedicated to inspiring innovation in the learning process to one that better reflects the world we live in today. In 2015 Legend initiated the #FreeAmerica campaign, designed to change the national conversation of our country’s misguided policies and to make a change in America’s criminal justice system.

Legend also continues his successful foray into the world of film as one of the principles for Get Lifted Film Co., a film and television production company based in Los Angeles. Get Lifted Film Co. has sold several projects in television to networks including Showtime, NBC, HBO, USA, MTV, OWN and FOX. In addition to these sales, Get Lifted Film Co. was previously in a television deal with Comcast/Universal and is currently in an overdeal with Legendary Television. Get Lifted Film Co. serves as Executive Producers on the HBO documentary “Southern Rites,” Pop Network docu-series “Sing it On”, and WGN America’s series “Underground.” Additionally, Get Lifted Film Co. has worked on several films such as “Southside With You” and “La La Land.” Get Lifted Film Co. has an executive producing credit on the 14-time Oscar-nominated film “La La Land” in which John also appears, playing a jazz band leader named Keith alongside stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.  Legend also contributed to the film’s soundtrack with the original song “Start a Fire.”  To date, “La La Land” has taken home an impressive six Golden Globe Awards, two SAG Awards and a PGA Award.

Tickets for the Huber Heights show, $102.00*, $90.00*, $72.00*, $62.00* and $23.50* will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, February 10th at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, and all Ticketmaster outlets.  Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000.

Just You ‘N’ Me and 4200 Others Can See Chicago at Rose Music Center

February 6, 2017 By Lisa Grigsby

Hailed as one of the “most important bands in music since the dawn of the rock and roll era” by former President Bill Clinton, the legendary rock and roll band with horns, Chicago will make their debut at Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, OH on Saturday, May 20th .

Chicago – who celebrates their 50th anniversary as a band this year and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 after receiving their first nomination – came in at #9, the highest charting American band in Billboard Magazine’s Hot 200 All-Time Top Artists. Chicago is the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six decades.

Lifetime achievements include a Grammy Award (Chicago Transit Authority, 2014), multiple American Music Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a Chicago street dedicated in their honor, and keys to and proclamations from an impressive list of US cities. Record sales top the 100,000,000 mark, and include 21 Top 10 singles, 5 consecutive Number One albums, 11 Number One singles and 5 Gold singles. An incredible 25 of their 36 albums have been certified platinum, and the band has a total of 47 gold and platinum awards.

Chicago have toured every year since the beginning – they’ve never missed a year. The band is now in their 50th consecutive year of touring, and continue to be true ambassadors for their beloved hometown, carrying the city’s name with pride and dignity around the world. The line-up includes original band members Robert Lamm on keyboards, vocals, Lee Loughnane on trumpet and vocals, James Pankow on trombone and Walt Parazaider on woodwinds, as well as Jeff Coffey on bass, vocals, Tris Imboden on drums, Keith Howland on guitar and vocals, Lou Pardini on keyboards, vocals and Walfredo Reyes, Jr. on percussion.

From the signature sound of the Chicago horns, their iconic vocalists, and a few dozen of ever-classic songs, this concert is one not to be missed!

Tickets for the Huber Heights show, $73.00*, $61.00*, $51.00*, and $24.50* will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, February 10th at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, and all Ticketmaster outlets.  Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000. *Ticket prices include parking and are subject to applicable Ticketmaster fees.  Dates, times and artists subject to change without notice.
