Huey Lewis & the News Will Play Rose Music Center

April 17, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

Huey Lewis and The News – one of America’s greatest rock & roll bands – is set to perform at Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, OH on Friday, July 21st. As they enter their 38th year together, their contagious brand of music has outlasted countless trends and is as fresh today as ever.

Formed from two rival Bay Area bands in 1979, Huey Lewis and The News continue to thrill audiences worldwide, selling over 20 million albums in the process, earning them the right to mark their place on the pop history map.

These Grammy Award winners have written and performed such classic Top Ten Hits as “Heart of Rock & Roll”, “Stuck With You”, “I Want A New Drug”, “If This Is It”, “Hip To Be Square” “Do You Believe In Love” and “Workin’ For A Livin”.  The group also wrote and performed “The Power of Love” and “Back in Time” for the hit film Back To The Future. “The Power of Love”, nominated for an Academy Award, went to #1 on Billboard’s singles chart, and was a smash hit worldwide.

As great a recording career as the band has had, there is something extra special about a Huey Lewis & The News live show. They incorporate a variety of musical influences including R&B and soul to create their own unique sound. Frontman Huey Lewis’ unmistakable voice has a rich, textured quality that lends itself well to not just their hits, but also to the variety of other songs featured in the show. Lewis also brings some bluesy tones to the performance when he breaks out into his harmonica solos. One of the highlights of the show is their a-cappella rendition of early rock n’ roll classics such as “It’s Alright”, “Little Bitty Pretty One” and “Sixty Minute Man”.

Huey Lewis & The News are: Huey Lewis (vocals and harmonica), Johnny Colla (saxophone, guitar and vocals), Bill Gibson (drums, percussion and vocals), Sean Hopper (keyboards and vocals), Stef Burns (guitars and vocals) and John Pierce (bass).  The live show features their long time horn section of San Francisco bay area luminaries: Rob Sudduth (tenor saxophone), Marvin McFadden (trumpet), and Johnnie Bamont (baritone saxophone).

Huey Lewis & The News have a love of music that comes through in everything they do. Be it their albums, their live performances, or the way they interact with their fans, they are a band with “Heart and Soul”.

Tickets for the Huber Heights show will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, April 21ST at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, and the Rose Music Center box office. Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000.

Boney James WithMorris Day & The Time At the Rose

April 10, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

Four-time GRAMMY nominee and multi-platinum selling sax-man Boney James is set to perform at Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, OH on Sunday, June 25th. The show will feature support by Morris Day and The Time.

ABOUT BONEY JAMES

Over 25 years James has racked up sales of more than 3 million records, four RIAA gold albums, four GRAMMY nominations, a Soul Train Award, nominations for two NAACP Image Awards and 10 CD’s atop Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Albums chart. In 2009 Billboard magazine named him the #3 Contemporary Jazz Artist Of The Decade (trailing just Kenny G and Norah Jones).

Fusing his love for vintage soul music with his mastery of modern production, Boney has created another genre-bending work with futuresoul following The Beat, nominated for the GRAMMY for Best Pop Instrumental Album, which prompted The New York Times to praise “The relaxed charisma of Mr. James’ tone…”

James says, “When people ask me what category my music falls under, I always say, ‘It’s Boney James music’.” Known for blurring the lines between genres, with futuresoul, Boney is doing the same between eras. “Let’s just call it ‘retro music for a modern age.’”

ABOUT MORRIS DAY & THE TIME

Born in Minneapolis, Day went to school with Prince Rogers Nelson and sang in Prince’s first band Grand Central. Prince grew as an artist and so did the opportunity around him. The Time was originally created as Prince’s alter-ego to be seen as the cool, street-wise funk band contrasting Prince’s more soulful R&B sound. After looking at several lead vocalists, Prince wanted someone with mad talent so he cast his high school friend, the funky, the fabulous Morris Day. Soon after, Morris Day and the Time were cast in Purple Rain which captured the exploding Minneapolis music scene at its peak.

Morris Day burst onto the public scene with the group’s self-titled album, The Time, which included “Get It Up,” “Cool,” and “Girl.” Soon after the world was introduced the prolific Minneapolis music marvel, the group went on to record three more albums, including What Time Is It? (featuring the hits “777-9311,” “Wild and Loose,” “Walk,” and “Gigolos Get Lonely Too”) and Ice Cream Castle, (which included the hit “Jungle Love”). After three albums, Morris Day launched his solo career, releasing three albums: The Color of Success, Daydreaming, and Guaranteed. Combined sales of Morris Day’s solo work and The Time is in excess of 10 million units.

Tickets for the Huber Heights show will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, April 14th at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, and the Rose Music Center box office. Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000. *Ticket prices include parking and are subject to applicable Ticketmaster fees.

O’Jays Bring Their Love Train To The Rose

April 3, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

The O’Jays are hitting the road with the same electrifying energy they’ve had for over 50 years bringing the sound that formed the soundtrack for the lives of several generations to Huber Heights, OH at Rose Music Center on Wednesday, June 28th.

Walter Williams and Eddie Levert first met when they were the ages of 6 and 7 respectively. As teenagers in Canton, Ohio, they formed a band originally consisting of Eddie Levert, Walter Williams, William Powell, Bobby Massey and Bill Isles. In 1963, the band took the name “The O’Jays” in tribute to Cleveland radio disc jockey Eddie O’Jay. Several members have changed, but the core, original lead singers Eddie Levert and Walter Williams, continue to front the group.

In 1972, Gamble & Huff, a team of producers and songwriters with whom the O’Jays had been working for several years, signed the group to their Philadelphia International label. With this magic formula, often called The Sound of Philadelphia, The O’Jays scored the first number 1 and million-seller, “Backstabbers.” Subsequently, they succeeded with various chart-topping pop and R&B singles including “Love Train”, “Put Your Hands Together”,  “For The Love of Money”, “I Love Music”, “Darlin’ Darlin’ Baby (Sweet, Tender, Love)”, “Livin’ For The Weekend” and “Use Ta Be My Girl.” This success propelled The O’Jays to be the first black vocal group to perform in arenas throughout America during the 70s and 80s.

Eddie and Walter have a rare lifelong bond that few of us will ever experience; friends and partners for almost 65 years. “We still appreciate our friendship, dedication to each other and the group and our love for good music.” Walter continues, “We probably could have had great solo careers, but I don’t think either one of us could have ever have been as big as The O’Jays.” Walter Williams could be considered a hero as he has battled Multiple Sclerosis or “MS” for 30 years and continues to execute his dance moves with perfection when performing on-stage with the group. Walter is also a volunteer National Ambassador for the MS Society and a spokesperson for MS Active Source. Eddie Levert is known for his raspy voice and has a range that takes him from alto to second tenor. Levert teamed up with his son Gerald for a duet on “Baby Hold On To Me”, which hit number one on the R&B charts. Eddie has also mentored his very successful sons Gerald and Sean who became major forces in the music industry.

The O’Jays were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2005 and honored with BET’s Life Time Achievement Award in 2009. In 2013, they were inducted into The Official R&B Music Hall of Fame. Today, the songs of The O’Jays are still being used in many movies, commercials and TV shows. “For The Love of Money” continues to be the theme song for “The Apprentice.”

Eddie Levert Sr., Walter Williams Sr. and Eric Nolan Grant, who joined the group in 1995, continue to thrill fans today. Throughout their career The O’Jays have achieved 10 Gold albums, 9 Platinum albums and 10 #1 hits. It’s been a long journey but thanks to the fans the LOVE TRAIN is still going strong!

Tickets for the Huber Heights show will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, April 7th at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, and the Rose Music Center box office. Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000.

March 28, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

Friends of Levitt Pavilion Dayton, a local nonprofit, has unveiled the design renderings for Levitt Pavilion Dayton, which will be constructed at Dave Hall Plaza in downtown Dayton. Construction is expected to start later this summer and the pavilion will open for concerts in the summer of 2018.

Levitt Pavilion Dayton will be a state-of–the-art music venue where all members of the community can enjoy 50 FREE concerts each summer on the Levitt lawn. “This project will feature a covered outdoor amphitheater and open lawn seating in a newly revitalized park in the heart of downtown, creating Dayton’s “urban living room”, inspired by Dayton’s rich history of innovation and aviation”, said Kevin Deal, Levitt Pavilion Dayton Board member, who oversees the design phase.  The pavilion structure has taken its design cue from the elegance and clarity of early airplane construction and the innovation of flight. The amphitheater will sit in the southwest quadrant of the park facing northeast. Plans also include state-of–the-art sound and lighting as well as a large video board for enhanced viewing. Other amenities in the park will include connected pathways, support facilities, open green spaces, artistic sculptures, signage, and more.

Dayton needs economic stimulus and redevelopment as well as community building to keep the urban core strong and attractive for its businesses and residents.  Levitt Pavilion Dayton will produce 50 FREE family friendly concerts over the summer making high-quality performing arts available to everyone.  Local, national, and international musicians will be featured with an emphasis on high caliber, diverse programming. In addition, a beautiful place-making community owned asset will be created, transforming a neglected green space into a re-imaged park.  This destination will also be available for other non-profits, community groups and businesses to utilize.   Friends of Levitt Pavilion Dayton needs the community’s help to make this special place a reality.  The Capital Campaign Goal is $5 million and  $550,000 more must be raised before construction can start this summer.  Please consider making a tax-deductible charitable contribution on-line www.LevittDayton.org or mobile device Text Connect to 91999 or send your check to The Dayton Foundation, 40 N. Main Street, Suite 500 Dayton, Ohio 45423 Acct. #7769.

Levitt Dayton Board member Dave Dickerson remarked, “The construction of Levitt Pavilion Dayton on Dave Hall Plaza will be a catalyst for development in this historic and urban neighborhood.  By creating social interactions among all ages and backgrounds in a family friendly environment, Levitt Dayton will be the tipping point where downtown becomes a more vibrant and bustling center for work, living, and entertainment.”

Levitt Pavilion Dayton is an unique partnership between the City of Dayton, Friends of Levitt Pavilion Dayton, and the national Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation. Building a destination like the Levitt Pavilion Dayton in the city center will strengthen our community amenities, creating a more diverse urban core. Levitt Pavilion Dayton is an opportunity to engage people of all ages and backgrounds and bring people together through music.  Everyone is encouraged to bring their blankets and coolers to Levitt next summer to experience new music, familiar favorites, and make new friends at Levitt Pavilion Dayton.

The Rose Welcomes Rick Springfield

March 27, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

Over the past three decades, Rick Springfield has worn many hats as an entertainer and performer. The creator of some of the finest power-pop of the ’80s, he’s a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and musician who has sold 25 million albums and scored 17 U.S. Top 40 hits, including “Jessie’s Girl,” “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” “An Affair of the Heart,” “I’ve Done Everything for You,” “Love Somebody,” and “Human Touch.” Springfield will make a stop in Huber Heights, OH to make his Rose Music Center debut on Friday, May 26th.

That Springfield has not only enjoyed longevity, but remained vibrant and relevant at a time when many veteran artists would be resting on past laurels led Rolling Stone to dub this stage of his career “The Rickonaissance.” “I guess it may appear like that, but in my head, I’ve never really left,” Springfield says. “I think it’s really important to stay connected to the vitality of your career. I have a certain pride that I’m not a total nostalgia act. I’ve never been the guy who hung the platinum albums on my walls because, to me, it was looking back. I’m very passionate about moving forward. I have to write new music. I have to record. I’m always working on the live shows. I have to always be working, otherwise I think I’d just turn to smoke and disappear.”
Springfield’s latest musical effort, Rocket Science, is his 18th studio album released in 2016 through Frontiers Music. Written largely with his longtime collaborator and former bass player Matt Bissonette, the album delivers the expertly crafted wide-ranging pop-rock songs Springfield is known for. The lyrics largely address matters of the heart with the irreverence, wit, and dark humor that has always permeated his work.

Music has always been a healing force in the Australian-born Springfield’s life. The son of an Army officer, Rick and his family moved every two years. Books and records became his savior. Then at age 11, he encountered his first guitar. “This kid brought one to a Christmas fair at my school in England and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen,” Springfield recalls. “He let me hold it. I hit two strings and the two strings happened to be the first couple of notes of the theme song to my favorite cowboy show at the time, Cheyenne. I realized instantly I could play the guitar. Some guys fall in love with cars, some with football teams. I fell in love with guitars.”
It has been a long and fruitful affair, and one that has gifted him with a powerful connection to his legions of devoted fans, who pack his annual fan getaway events, as well as the nearly 100 shows a year he performs both with his band and solo in an intimate “storyteller” setting that he captured on the 2015 CD/DVD and concert film Stripped Down. Though too self-deprecating to discuss his immense appeal, he will acknowledge that the fans connect with him through the music. “I guess they think I’m honest,” he says. “They must like my approach, what I write about. I think they like that I have a sense of humor in it at times. Because the ‘cute’ thing isn’t going to last forever.”
Tickets for the Huber Heights show will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, March 31st at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, and the Rose Music Center box office. Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000.

Right now it’s in a cocoon of metamorphosis, and we will see what emerges when the time is right.”

I’ve never been much good at talking, but I can sing, and when I sing I connect with people in a much deeper, higher way.”
What will fans experience at these shows?  “People can expect the unexpected in 2017,” Ann says. “A beautiful, classy set with an elegant, artistic production…The music will be a mix of songs that have powered my life; iconic soul stirring covers, songs from my years of solo work and the unforgettable songs of Heart.” The name for the upcoming tour, explains Ann, “is to give people a point of recognition; to help people understand who I am and where I came from.”

It’s been four years since Adkins’ last studio album Love Will… released in 2013, which debuted in the top ten on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, and fans have eagerly awaited this follow up ever since. Some of Nashville’s favorite and most respected songwriters contributed to the range and inspiration of Something’s Going On, boasting credits such as Tyler Farr, Craig Campbell and Shane McAnally to name a few.

Something’s Going On marks Adkins’ first album release on his new label, BBR Music Group / Wheelhouse Records and was produced by Mickey Jack Cones.

Adkins’ trademark baritone has powered countless hits to the top of the charts. The three-time GRAMMY-nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry is a TV personality, actor, author, and spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Red Cross, for whom he raised over $1.5 million dollars as winner of NBC’s All-Star Celebrity Apprentice.

In recent years, Adkins has performed for our service men and women across 11 USO Tours, with his 12thscheduled for spring 2017. In his 2007 autobiography, A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck, he recounted his rise to fame, brushes with death, and battles with personal demons.

Trace has played a tough as nails biker in The Lincoln Lawyer (starring Matthew McConaughey), a desperate father in Deepwater Horizon (starring Mark Wahlberg) and a wise oracle of a tattoo artist in the family-friendly film Moms’ Night Out (starring Patricia Heaton, Sean Astin, Sarah Drew).

Boston With Joan Jett & The Blackhearts Coming To The Rose

March 6, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

Music legends BOSTON continue their Hyper Space Tour this summer with the iconic JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS, for an additional 21 cities including a stop in Huber Heights, Ohio at Rose Music Center on Saturday, July 8th.

Always a huge crowd pleaser with their high-energy stage show, other-worldly sound, and exceptional musicianship, BOSTON prides itself on performing a totally live show, delivering an extraordinary experience that is faithful to their studio recordings.

Unlike most bands at the time, all of BOSTON’s albums were conceived in a basement, written, produced and recorded by Tom Scholz, an MIT graduate who designed specialized equipment to capture the songs that he heard in his head. Scholz created his music with the intention of playing it live, in real time with real musicians, making it one of the few bands in history to reproduce seemingly-impossible-to-perform productions on stage, without the use of prerecorded music or technical enhancements.

The timeless songs appeal to young and old alike, so it’s not surprising to see concert audiences that span generations. Fans can expect to hear the classic songs they have grown to love, and will be treated to wild Hammond organ work, soaring guitars, and exceptional vocal harmonies, and be treated to BOSTON’s unique visual stage presentation, from mind-blowing lightning bolts and spectacular lights to an interstellar “journey” from the cockpit of the BOSTON spaceship, along with plenty of extra-terrestrial sounds heard nowhere else on earth.

It’s been over 40 years since BOSTON’s self-titled debut album first hit the airwaves and turned the world on to a new kind of sonic experience. With over 17 million copies sold, Boston generated hits such as “More Than a Feeling,” “Peace of Mind,” “Foreplay/Long Time,” and “Smokin’,” rock staples that are still in heavy rotation today. Their second album, Don’t Look Back was another chart-topper that confirmed their place in rock history, followed by Third Stage, which hit #1 on the charts, with the top single of 1986, “Amanda.” Walk On, Corporate America, and Life, Love & Hope complete the band’s discography. With over 31 million albums sold to date, BOSTON has stood the test of time.

Scholz says, “I am thrilled to have Joan and her band on tour with us this summer.  Not only is she an amazing rock and roll performing artist, but even more exciting to me is that she is a fellow vegetarian and shares compassion for animal welfare.”  Both Scholz and 30-year BOSTON veteran Gary Pihl have been longtime vegetarians.  Scholz has worked to promote that lifestyle as well as the prevention of cruelty and suffering to all living creatures.

Continuing their effort to promote humane treatment for animals, one dollar from each ticket purchased this summer will be donated to Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, who are committed to ending the slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans, as well as Mercy for Animals, who utilize a broad range of strategic approaches that seek to expose cruelty, prosecute abusers, and inspire consumers to make compassionate food choices.

Joan Jett is a true originator, an innovator, and a visionary. As the leader of the hard-rocking Blackhearts, with whom she has become a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, she’s had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including the classics “Bad Reputation,” “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll,” “I Hate Myself For Loving You,” and “Crimson and Clover.” She sits at the head of her own independent label, Blackheart Records. Jett has acted in movies and television, including 1987’s Light Of Day, and in a Tony-nominated Broadway musical, The Rocky Horror Show. She has appeared on such acclaimed television shows as Oprah (the last season) and Law and Order. As a producer, she has overseen albums by Bikini Kill, Circus Lupus, as well as the Germs’ LA punk masterpiece, GI.

Since co-founding The Runaways, the pioneering all-girl punk quintet at age 15, Jett’s determination and drive have kept her in the public eye. Jett was able to see her story told in The Runaways, the film based on (lead singer of The Runaways) Cherie Currie’s book Neon Angel starring Kristen Stewart as Jett, and Dakota Fanning as Currie. Jett was close to the project: She served as an executive producer. Isbell and the 400 Unit are putting the final touches on their highly anticipated follow up to 2015’s Something More Than Free. Cobb produced Something More Than Free and Isbell’s acclaimed breakthrough album Southeastern (2013). The new, yet-to-be-titled collection will officially be the first Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit album since 2011’s critically acclaimed Here We Rest.

Rock icon Rob Zombie will make a stop in Huber Heights, OH this summer at Rose Music Center on Wednesday, July 12th.

As a rock icon and filmmaker with a unique vision, Zombie has continuously challenged audiences as he stretches the boundaries of both music and film. He has sold more than fifteen million albums worldwide, and is the only artist to experience unprecedented success in both music and film as the writer/director of seven feature films.

Rob Zombie has achieved great success as a solo artist with several multi-platinum and gold albums including Hellbilly Deluxe, The Sinister Urge and Educated Horses. In 2013, the seven-time GRAMMY® nominee released his fifth solo album, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor, on his Zodiac Swan label through T-Boy Records/UMe.  The album debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and spawned two Top 10 Active Rock singles, “Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Super Town” and Zombie’s spin on Grand Funk Railroad’s anthem “We’re An American Band.”

In terms of his film career, Zombie’s Halloween, released in 2007, earned the No. 1 spot at the box office in its opening weekend, and his first two films House of 1,000 corpses and The Devil’s Rejects have become cult favorites among critics and fans.

Rob Zombie’s first concert film, The Zombie Horror Picture Show, released in 2015 by Zodiac Swan/T-Boy/UMe, held the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Music DVD chart for two consecutive weeks. Recorded live over two sizzling nights in Texas, The Zombie Horror Picture Show captures Zombie’s elaborate, multi-media production of mind-blowing SFX, animatronic robots, pyrotechnics, oversized LED screens and state-of-the-art light show combined with his powerhouse band featuring John 5, Piggy D and Ginger Fish.

In April 2016, Zombie released of his 6th studio album, The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser. Produced by Zeuss, it was recorded and mixed at Goathouse Studios. A full return to form by the rock icon, The Electric Warlock… features John 5 (Guitar), Piggy D (Bass) and Ginger Fish (Drums).

Tickets for the Huber Heights show, $56.00*, $42.00*, and $23.50* will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, February 17th at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, the Rose Music Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.  Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000.

The Beach Boys & The Righteous Brothers at The Rose

February 13, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

The Beach Boys will return to Huber Heights, OH at Rose Music Center on Friday, July 28th with special guest The Righteous Brothers.

You can capsulize most pop music acts by reciting how many hits they’ve had and how many millions of albums they’ve sold.  But these conventional measurements fall short when you’re assessing the impact of The Beach Boys.  To be sure, this band has birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold albums by the tens of millions.  But its greater significance lies in the fact that it changed the musical landscape so profoundly that every pop act since has been in its debt.

Happily for us all, The Beach Boys continue to create and perform with the same bold imagination and style that marked their explosive debut over 50 years ago. Their 2013 Capitol Records release, Sounds of Summer (RIAA certified triple platinum with over three million in sales and climbing), and it’s companion The Warmth of the Sun marked a resurgence in Beach Boys interest that has again rocked the world.

Grammy-winning songwriter Bruce Johnston, [Barry Manilow’s “I Write the Songs”], joined The Beach Boys in 1965, replacing Glenn Campbell, who filled-in for Brian Wilson, on vocals/bass, when he retired from touring.

The Beach Boys are founding member Boy Mike Love (lead vocals) and Beach Boy-vet Bruce Johnston (vocals/keyboards)—Jeffrey Foskett (guitar/vocals), Brian Eichenburger (bass/vocals), Tim Bonhomme (keyboards/vocals), John Cowsill of The Cowsills (percussion /vocals) and Scott Totten (guitar/vocals) round out the band.

Tickets for the Huber Heights show, $62.00*, $52.00*, $47.00*, and $23.50* will go on sale to the public beginning 11:00am on Friday, February 17th at www.Ticketmaster.com, www.Rosemusiccenter.com, the Rose Music Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.  Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000. *Ticket prices include parking and are subject to applicable Ticketmaster fees.  Dates, times and artists subject to change without notice.

Dayton’s Firecreek Goes to Nashville

January 19, 2017 By Dayton Most Metro

It’s not often people can say that someone from  their hometown has an opportunity to make it big. But that is exactly what Daytonians can say about their hometown bluegrass band Firecreek, founded by Dayton native Ashley Knapp and Eaton native Cody Doench, both of whom are United States Army veterans.

Some of you may have seen them performing in Dayton and surrounding areas within the past few years, but come March the Firecreek band is Nashville bound to record their first CD after accepting a once in a lifetime opportunity from bluegrass’s current number one band Flatt Lonesome.

“Were excited, were nervous, but most importantly were looking forward to taking this next step and opening this new door.” Says front woman Ashley Knapp.

Whether you like the traditional or the newer sounds of bluegrass, this band has something for every fan to enjoy. The band is holding a fundraiser to help cover their expenses on February 18th at the American Legion located at 126 East 4th street, Franklin, Ohio 45005 from 6-10 pm…everyone is invited to enjoy live bands, auctions, and raffles. The band also has a GoFundMe page where donations are being accepted.

To get a listen and look at this hometown band you can go to their Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/FirecreekOhio.

For booking information the band can be reached at (937) 607-7431.

Dayton is known for its innovation and creativity, let’s show support for this Dayton original!

This holiday jam session is a Dayton music tradition!

Dayton area musicians and fans are gathering at Therapy Cafe on Wednesday December 21st for the Big Damn Holiday Jam, a special homecoming jam session for the holidays. This unique event includes touring local musicians we don’t get to see too often, so this is definitely a “don’t miss” event!

Not only is there amazing music provided, there’s delicious food provided as well. The theme for this week is holiday appetizers. Feel free to bring a dish if you’d like! It’s a family gathering vibe, which is what makes it extra special.

You can even get some holiday shopping done! Abyss Collections, Candis Young and Jonathon Gale will have some lovely creations for your last minute holiday gifts.

Most of all, I’m looking forward to seeing The Family favorites jam together, including Chris Houser, Dino Dimitrouleas, Jeremy Canonico, Ronald Frost, Jonny Dread, Eric Henry, Melissa Nicole Henry, Anthony SaxTone Arrington, Phil Bradley-Hutchison, Marcus Cornwell and Alex Delk. They’ve even have Blues favorite Bob Dellaposta at this session, to kick off the evening’s festivities with an acoustic hour from 8pm to 9pm.

How to go? Therapy Cafe on 3rd St downtown, in the Cannery District.

Doors and music start at 8pm.

Tickets $6 or $5 with a non perishable food item at the door.
