After several weeks of carryout only, the doors will open Wed at 11am for guests to dine in or order via doordash at this new Doubleday’s location. They explain that this concept “is a slimmed down offering of Doubleday’s favorites as well as some exciting exclusive items. However, this is not a full service restaurant, but quick service geared to be quick, easy, and take home well. We hope to offer superior food quality and value without having to go through full service experience.”

With a seaside decor, neon palm trees and a ceiling of waves, you might actually believe you are in a tropical location. I started Restaurant Week in 2005 when I was president of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association as a way to help our local eateries during the slowest month of the year. The promotion offered a 3 course meal for $20.05, playing off the year, with $1/meal going to a local charity. At one point we had over 50 independent restaurants participating and over 10,000 meals served over the week. 2024 Restaurant Week kicks off tonight, Sun, Jan 21st and runs through next Sun, Jan 28th.
