Summer restaurant week kicks off tonight and runs through July 27th. This week of 3 course dining deals began in 2005 (when I was President of the local restaurant association). At the height of it’s popularity over 55 local eateries participated offering meals for $20.05, with the cost going up a penny each year. As times have moved on and food costs have risen the 3 course meal has survived, but the price point has changed a lot due to rising food costs, with restaurants offering meals from priced between $20.25-$55.25. Just over 20 restaurants have been announced for this summer’s promotion. A few businesses are also offering lunch options. Please double check the hours for your destination as many of them are not open all days during the promotion. One dollar for each meal will be donated to the MVRA Education Foundation.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the creation of the winter version of Dayton Restaurant Week, the three course dinner meal deals kicks off tonight and runs through Sun, Feb 2nd. It also happens every July. The original was priced at $20.05 with $1 of each meal being donated to a charity partner each time. The meal would go up a penny a year, but the economics of the restaurant industry changed all that some years ago. Full disclosure, I was president of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association when this started.

Jollity has declared July 25 – 29 Koji Burger week at this Fire Blocks District eatery.
The last week of January has been designated Restaurant Week since 2005. Running through January 3oth, local eateries offering 3 course meal deals starting at $20.22. Over the years, price points have stretched to $25.22 and $35.22. On the other end of the budget, Bunkers is offering dinner for 2 at $20.22 and $25.22, while Nick’s has dinner for 2 at 2 For $ 32.22. Restaurant Week kicks off tonight and runs through Sun, July 26th. That means 3 course meal deals are available all over town. This tradition, which started in 2005 and happens twice a year, bases the cost of the meals on the year, so you’ll find restaurants will offer special menu’s at $20.20. Several years ago they added options for $25.20, or $30.20, some restaurants offer all three price points. The Pandemic has certainly affected this semi-annual event, which usually kicks off with a Sneak Peek event, which didn’t happen this year. At it’s peak, there have been over 50 restaurants that have participated, but it looks like this year will be a more limited selection.
