Indigo Life Has Pilot Streaming on Amazon

March 10, 2023 By Lisa Grigsby

The pilot for Otherside was written six years ago and the pilot was filmed locally by Indigo Life Media in 2o21 during covid.  The concept: A curious group of individuals explore the paranormal world – some believers, others not so sure. A mix of comedy and suspense. Hosted by comedian, Dionte Allen and paranormal investigator, Tim Debusk.

Indigo co-founder Andrew White explains that  they loved the show and ran it on their own platform for a while, but realized in order to complete an entire season of the show, they need to raise funds and investors. The entire season would be produced crew of just 4 and has plenty of haunted spaces they’d like to explore.

So they’ve worked a deal with AmazonPrime to air the  2 episode pilot series and you can currently watch it for just $2.99/episode.

Episode One:

Gus & Eleanor built this home in the 1940’s and were loved by many in the neighborhood. Gus was even known as the mayor of Patterson Park in Dayton, Ohio. Gus died at 100 years old. Current homeowners Aaron & Nathan have documented evidence of activity so the crew meets up with them to further investigate.
Episode Two:

The historical Victoria Theatre in Dayton, Ohio is the scene for this paranormal investigation. Thousands have graced the stage with their energy since 1866, persevering through two fires and a flood. See what the crew discovers when the lights go out.
So check it out, support local film production and explore some haunted spots in Dayton.

Local Couple Launches Streaming Platform

April 2, 2021 By Dayton Most Metro

In response to a growing appetite for genuine local connection, the team behind IndigoLife TV has announced today that they are evolving their popular digital streaming platform into a collaborative, multi-faceted digital and in-person experience called Nearu TV.

Popular flagship programming including Decoding Dayton, I Am, The Voices Project, Behind the Drag and Revolutionist will become foundational programming on the new digital streaming platform, which will both replace the Indigo Life Network and evolve the experience into one that goes well beyond the traditional digital streaming experience.

“Nearu TV is more than a window into the stories of our community, it is an opportunity to come a little closer and be a part of it,” said co-founder Andrew White, who worked with his partner Lauren White to launch the new experience. “We wanted to create a platform that gives people a chance to celebrate what is near them, engage in content that captures the region, share stories, connect with neighbors and participate in events.”

Lauren and Andrew White

White said part of this transition is a vision to celebrate and support other local creators producing regional video content. Creators will be able to submit their finished works to be considered by a community advisory panel for syndication. Accepted content will then receive complimentary marketing via the channel, as well as a portion of subscription revenue.

“The true story of a community comes from including many different perspectives,” Lauren White said. “Nearu TV is a collaborative platform. We are actively engaging other producers, local filmmakers, documentarians and creatives to join the platform as a way to syndicate and share their content as well, and we have high hopes that this will evolve to be a way to access inclusive stories from all areas of the community.”

White said the launch of the new platform times perfectly with the addition of new programming like the FonDana Show and a spinoff of Decoding Dayton focused on Nature coming this summer.

Hosts of The FonDana Show

The FonDana Show, a collaboration with The Rubi Girls will launch on Nearu TV this spring. The premiere of the new series will be celebrated with a drive-in screening inviting members of the community to watch the first episode during a safe and social distanced in person event on April 13 at 8:00pm in the parking lot at Top of the Market.

These types of shows and experiences are just one example, White said, of the type of collaboration and connection Nearu TV is hoping to achieve in the future.

White said especially in the past year, there’s been a huge push for digital experiences that open the door for people to feel more deeply connected to both their communities and each other. Nearu TV is a platform that pulls that all together.

“One of the most exciting things about Nearu is the opportunity to connect digital experiences with in-person events,” Andrew White said. “It’s easy to become too attached to a screen and forget that these stories are windows into real life. One of the driving forces behind the evolution of Nearu TV is that ability to discover online and connect offline. We can’t wait to invite connections through real life experiences using the digital content as a catalyst.”

“We all have a story,” Lauren White said. “And that story can impact others around us. While the screen has the power to share that story to many viewers, it’s also an opportunity for us to connect on a human level. If we can use the screen as a catalyst to invite people to come a little closer, then we’ve achieved what we set out to do.”

Her Talks: The Men Speak

September 17, 2018 By Guest Contributor

“I am woman, hear me roar..” – Helen Reddy

And so, women have roared. And women have been heard. For a year, Dayton audiences have listened to the voices of women across the Miami Valley at Empower HER talk show events. Discussing topics ranging from traveling solo to parenthood to entrepreneurship to sexuality, Empower HER has hosted more than a dozen panel conversations. These real life, local, conversations have brought together hundreds of people to hear and be heard.

On September 19, 2018, Empower HER will be giving the microphone to men. Empower HER has always encouraged men to attend and participate, believing that the conversation is inclusive. At this one year anniversary special event, they will give men the platform so that their voices, too, will be heard.

The panel includes 4 men in the Dayton community who passionately dedicate their time in support of other men.

Aaron Paschal, owner of AP2Photography, created a platform for men to share their stories through his photo essay creation, Mortal Man. His work has been published in ESPN the Magazine, Ambition Magazine, Afropunk, CincyMusic and numerous online publications. Husband and father of 2 daughters, Aaron seeks to nurture the women in his life and believes that “being a man doesn’t give you a right to be jerk.”

Andrew White, founder of Indigo Life and Indigo Life TV, founded Dudes of Dayton as a way for men in the Dayton area to get together and support one another. Andrew believes that his key to his success is in serving others. With Dudes of Dayton, Andrew is creating a community where “you don’t have to have your shit together.”

Antoine Edmonson, hip hop artist, husband and father, creates music that explores the challenges, triumphs, and the mundane of balancing big dreams of touching the world with his music, being an intentional husband, and present father. Antoine admits that he is not perfect and that he is working things out. “I am evolving. I don’t have all the answers. Here is what I have learned.”

Tony Cali, owner of an Allstate Insurance Agency for 14 years, husband, and father to two grown sons, has provided service to the community via coaching soccer and softball, active with boy scouts, youth ministry, various business service clubs, and his newest relationship is now developing with Artemis of Dayton. When describing raising his sons, he talked about protecting yourself “without a foul” and having the courage to visualize the paths ahead of you and make a choice.

Join Empower HER at this special, one-year anniversary event, on Wednesday September 19, 2018 at 6PM at the new Brightside Event and Music Venue at 905 East Third Street Suite B, Dayton. Tickets run $10 and you can reserve online.

Empower HER was founded by Bridget Flaherty (Purple Shirt) and Jessika Meyer (Orange Shirt) of Dayton, OH. Their friendship sparked this movement with the intention of inspiring women to overcome their challenges and fears by facilitating conversations that remind you that you are not alone. At every event you will hear inspirational stories to remind you that your struggles, fears and challenges are normal.
