3 Ghost Dinners Scheduled for Amber Rose
October will be creeping up before you know it, and part of the Miami Valley’s haunted past is the AMBER ROSE RESTAURANT! Each fall Dayton’s ghost enthusiasts get an opportunity to experience a paranormal presentation, along with a 4 course dinner from Amber Rose on Valley Street in Old North Dayton.
The “ParaSense” Investigative Team will share stories, photos, recordings, and even some video they have captured during nights they have spent at Amber Rose.
The daughter of the original owner of the building is said to haunt the main level and upstairs of Amber Rose. Her name is Genevieve Ksiezopolski, and is also known as “Chickie.” One of the restaurant cooks claimed to have seen the ghostly spirit of Genevieve aka “Chickie” while cooking one night. He says the full apparition was in front of him, in a ruffled dress. She walked into, then out of the room. Now comes the unexplainable part…. There are security cameras throughout the restaurant including the kitchen. When the management heard the cook’s story, they decided to pull up the surveillance tape. What they saw was a small, bright, white orb enter, circle and leave the room at the same exact time the cook said he saw the ghost.
This year the Amber Rose will host 3 night of dinners, each with a different menu. Guests are asked to book their entire party together and they will be set up at one table for groups of four, six or eight. Beaver Creek Wetlands Nears Completion of Spotted Turtle Trail Project
The Beaver Creek Wetlands Association (BCWA) has acquired 58+ acres along the Beaver Creek corridor in Beavercreek Township. The sale of the property was completed on September 17, 2021. The purchase was made possible by a grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission and financial support from Beavercreek Township and LSRM Limited McIntire Partnership.
Acquiring this acreage enables BCWA to move forward on the next phase of the 15-mile Spotted Turtle Trail project. The property, which will be called the Dave Nolin Wetland Reserve, includes high quality wetland habitats, including marshes (wetlands frequently or continually inundated with water), several fens (biodiverse peat-forming wetlands fed by groundwater), and wet savannahs (wet meadows with scattered trees).

As part of the Spotted Turtle Trail, the BCWA will install boardwalks and trails to make this area accessible to the community. Jacki Mayer, Executive Director of BCWA said, “This is a day to celebrate! We’re nearing completion of Phase 1 of the Spotted Turtle Trail Project and now we can move forward with Phase 2.”
The Ribbon Cutting for Phase 1 of the Spotted Turtle Trail will be on Tuesday, October 12th, 2021, at 10 AM at Phillips Park in Beavercreek. To contribute to the ongoing fundraising campaign or for more information about the Spotted Turtle Trail, please go to our website beavercreekwetlands.org.

Bob Dylan’s Whiskey Hits Ohio Shelves!
The Heaven’s Door range of whiskey have been created by Bob Dylan (yes, actual Bob Dylan, the legendary songwriter) and Marc Bushala (founder of Angel’s Envy Bourbon), made in a church in Tennessee. This expression is made with a mash bill featuring 30% “small grains”, and the spirit is allowed to age for at least 8 years in American oak barrels. The bottle features a design from Dylan’s own wrought ironwork, and the name is of course a reference to his song ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door’.

Heaven’s Door is a whole new canvas, with each bottle showcasing Dylan’s art. The brand is privileged to share the treasure trove of Bob Dylan’s artistic genius with works exclusive to the Heaven’s Door brand.
Ohio Liquor is releasing an exclusive, single barrel selection of Heaven’s Door. The product will begin hitting shelves on September 21st at a price of $52.39 plus tax and will be available until it has sold out.
These three barrels were selected by the distiller and OHLQ exclusively for Ohio, and are not available outside of our state. Single-barrel selections are not blended, and therefore retain the unique flavors, characteristics, and finish of the barrel in which they were aged. No two single-barrel selections are ever the same!
