Chipotle Mexican Grill First-Ever High Protein Menu

December 23, 2025 By Lisa Grigsby

Introducing Chipotle's High Protein Cup, a 4-ounce side of Adobo Chicken packed with flavor and real protein — the perfect snack or extra side of protein to add to any order.Chipotle Mexican Grill today announced its first-ever High Protein Menu that will roll out today.  The curated menu features a High Protein Cup with fresh grilled, hand-cut Adobo Chicken at 32 grams of protein, meeting consumer demand for a quick protein-packed snack. The national weighted average price of a High Protein Cup of Adobo Chicken is $3.82. Chipotle’s popular Adobo Chicken is humanely raised and never given antibiotics, so the menu makes it easy to enjoy clean, high protein options without sacrificing flavor.

A high protein diet has held the title as the top diet pattern in the U.S. for three consecutive years. In addition, 70% of Americans say they are prioritizing protein and more than one-third have increased their intake in the past year.2 With the rise of GLP-1s and a broader focus on macronutrients, Chipotle’s new High Protein Menu offers more ways for guests to get the protein they want in the portions that work for them, whether that is a lighter bite or a more substantial build.

The High Protein Menu also features Chipotle’s first-ever snack: a High Protein Cup. Inspired by real protein hacks that Chipotle guests rely on to boost their protein intake (see HERE), the High Protein Cup is 4 ounces of clean, craveable Adobo Chicken or Steak.

The High Protein Menu includes:

  • Double High Protein Bowl (81g protein, 11g fiber, 760 calories) – A high protein burrito bowl featuring double Adobo Chicken, light white rice, black beans, fajita veggies, fresh tomato salsa, Monterey Jack cheese and extra romaine lettuce
  • High Protein-High Fiber Bowl (46g protein, 14g fiber, 540 calories) – A GLP-1 friendly bowl featuring Adobo Chicken, light brown rice, black beans, fajita veggies, roasted chili-corn salsa, fresh tomato salsa and romaine lettuce
  • High Protein-Low Calorie Salad (36g protein, 10g fiber, 470 calories) – A GLP-1 friendly salad featuring Adobo Chicken, Supergreens lettuce mix, fajita veggies, fresh tomato salsa and guac
  • Double High Protein Burrito (79g protein, 6g fiber, 840 calories) – A high protein burrito featuring double Adobo Chicken, fresh tomato salsa, fajita veggies, Monterey Jack cheese and romaine lettuce
  • High Protein Cup with Adobo Chicken (32g protein, 180 calories) – A 4-ounce side of Adobo Chicken packed with flavor and real protein — the perfect snack or extra side of protein to add to any order.
  • Adobo Chicken Taco (15g protein, 190 calories) – A soft flour tortilla, Adobo Chicken, fajita veggies, fresh tomato salsa, Monterey Jack cheese and romaine lettuce

High Protein Built with Superfans
For years, athletes and creators have turned to Chipotle for protein-packed meals, leveraging its customization to hit diverse macro goals. To spotlight how real fans rely on Chipotle for clean protein, the brand is partnering with creators to feature their go-to entrees on the High Protein Menu in the Chipotle app, Chipotle.com and Chipotle.ca starting January 5.

  • Josh Hart’s High Protein Burrito (95g protein, 14g fiber, 1340 calories) – A high protein burrito featuring double Adobo Chicken, white rice, black beans, fresh tomato salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, sour cream, Monterey Jack cheese
    • Professional basketball player Josh Hart, a longtime superfan and Chipotle Celebrity Card holder, prioritizes protein at Chipotle to fuel his performance.
  • Smaller Sam’s High Protein Tacos (40g protein, 6g fiber, 580 calories) – Three crispy corn tortilla tacos featuring Adobo Chicken, light roasted chili-corn salsa, fajita veggies with sides of tomatillo-red chili salsa and sour cream
    • Samantha Milton, @SmallerSam_PCOS, is a health creator who has lost 255 pounds while eating in a calorie deficit and prioritizing protein. Chipotle has been one of Sam’s go-to low-calorie, high-protein meals on her health journey (see HERE, HERE, HERE).
  • Kylie’s High Protein Chicken Bowl (52g protein, 12g fiber, 690 calories) – A balanced bowl featuring Adobo Chicken, half white rice, half brown rice, half black beans, half pinto beans, extra fajita veggies, tomatillo green-chili salsa, Monterey Jack cheese and romaine lettuce

Chipotle Brings Back Smoked Brisket

September 10, 2024 By Lisa Grigsby

Chipotle announced the return of its Smoked Brisket at all participating restaurant locations in the U.S. and Canada. This comeback is happening three years after it has been removed on the menu. Even when it was out of sight, the Smoked Brisket remained the top item requested to bring back. Chipotle heard their fans and so the brand is offering again what they love. According to Chris Brandt, Chipotle’s Chief Brand Officer, guests will be impressed by the restaurant’s way of preparing its brisket. It’s how they stand out in the competition.

Vice President of Culinary, Nevielle Panthaky, also has a suggestion for those trying the Smoked Brisket for the first time: get the Smoked Brisket Burrito Bowl. It offers a flavor adventure where guests can enjoy the juicy and smoky brisket along with white rice and black beans. The cheese and fresh tomato salsa makes the meal tastier and more refreshing.

Chipotle’s Smoked Brisket is back for a limited time only, so be sure to get yours today! It might just be the brunch option that you need after some Taco Bell locations decided to discontinue the breakfast menu. To stay in the loop about the latest food news, keep an eye on our future articles.

Chipotle only uses Responsibly Raised beef for its smoked brisket. Various and effective culinary techniques are then used to bring out the rich flavors of the brisket. Of course, the dining experience wouldn’t be complete without pairing the protein with other fresh ingredients. The brisket is chopped in small, juicy bites and smothered in a brisket sauce made using chili peppers. The reason why the brisket is so tasty? It’s also seasoned with more spices and seared on the plancha. Every bite gives powerful smoky flavors. To keep the freshness of this menu item, it is prepared in small batches throughout the day.

Chicken Al Pastor is Also Back for a limited time. It’s made with freshly grilled chicken flavored with a marinade of ground achiote and seared morita peppers. It has the right level of acidity as well, thanks to the addition of pineapple and lime. The bold flavor of Chicken Al Pastor can be enjoyed in a salad, quesadilla, burrito, or burrito bowl. Top it off with fresh Guacamole for a Mexican dining experience like no other!

Chipotle has also added some  new beverages. They’re what the brand calls “better-for-you” offerings. For years, the brand has stood by its mission to deliver meals that are better for you, better for people, and better for the planet. The launching of these drinks is part of that mission:

  • Poppi: The restaurant has partnered with Texas-based Poppi to offer prebiotic soda in two refreshing flavors: orange and strawberry-lemon. These drinks have more or less 25 calories per can and five grams of sugar.
  • Open Water’s Still Water: In an attempt to remove all plastic water bottles in its U.S. restaurants, Chipotle is also offering water contained in recyclable and climate-neutral bottles. A portion of Open Water’s revenue in Chipotle restaurants will be donated to agriculture projects focused on improving coastal waters.
  • Organic Watermelon Limeade: This seasonal drink features the refreshing flavor combination of real lime and watermelon from Tractor Beverage Co. It’s made with all-natural ingredients with no preservatives added. Additionally, 5% of profits from sale of this beverage will benefit causes that support farme

Chipotle Introduces New Organic Drinks Lineup

July 21, 2020 By Dayton Most Metro

Chipotle is rolling out a lineup of new beverages from farmer-owned and sustainably-sourced Tractor Beverage Company. Chipotle will be donating 5% of all purchases from this menu to support farmers, giving you an extra sweet incentive to try it out on your next burrito run.

In addition to the new Organic Lemonade and Organic Hibiscus Lemonade, the exclusive menu also includes the Mexican specialty aguas frescas, which is Spanish for “fresh water.” Just like the name suggests, the refreshing sips start with a base of water and are usually infused with fruits and other ingredients for a summery beverage that isn’t too sweet.

The Organic Mandarin Agua Fresca, which features notes of citrus, orange, and tangerine, is a tasty way to get some vitamin C. Meanwhile, the Organic Berry Agua Fresca is made with pomegranates, cherries, and strawberries, as well as a “hint of apple cider vinegar,” according to the press release. On average, both of these drinks will sell for $2.40 per 22-ounce drink or $2.70 per 32-ounce drink.

Both of the aguas frescas and the new lemonades are available for pick-up and dine-in options only, meaning you’ll need to make a trip to your local Chipotle to try them. If you’re ordering delivery, you can still get in on the new Tractor Beverages menu by trying the bottled Organic Lemonade or Organic Black Tea, which are both retailing for $3.19 per bottle

Mikesell’s Ends 2016 with Two New Flavors !

December 8, 2016 By Dayton937 Leave a Comment

Grab a handful of Mikesells new flavors !!

Grab a handful of Mikesells new flavors !!

Your hometown potato chip company has done it again.   Oh, how we love Mikesell’s Snacks for any occasion.  And now, they bring us a couple of new, terrific products that quite honestly are surprisingly good.

The Food Adventures Crew have been enjoying Mikesell’s brand snacks for as long as we can remember, especially Chef House and The Big Ragu.  Even our New York girl, Hungry Jax and her family have been crunching away on her decade in Dayton on those groovy chips.  We have been on tours of the plant. We have been lucky enough to be behind the scenes, at test taste meetings, and met the workers that make the magic possible.

New Nacho Cheese tortilla Chips from Mikesells are sturdier than the rest

New Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips from Mikesells are sturdier than the rest

As we end 2016, Luke Mapp, VP of Marketing and his staff have come up with two winners.  Seriously.. you gotta try these.  The new flavors are “NACHO CHEESE TORTILLA CHIPS” AND “TANGY CHIPOTLE BBQ KETTLE COOKED POTATO CHIPS.”  They are 2 more reasons to reach for your local brand, when in the potato chip aisle.

We give you Food Adventures take on these new “hot off the presses” flavors….

HERE’S THE SKINNY ON MIKESELL’S TWO NEW “MUST EAT” FLAVORS:

— NACHO CHEESE FLAVORED TORTILLA CHIPS:  Ok, so this is Mikesell’s jab at the Nacho Cheese Dorito brand.  The flavor is very close to Nacho Cheese Doritos, except a tad milder.  It is a nice, easy snack.  Nice, lightly flavored and definitely cheesey.  One of the big improvements over other Nacho Cheese flavored tortilla products, is this chip is more sturdy.  It holds up way better in french onion dip, queso and salsa than other brands.  So, now you know, it is a strong hometown tortilla chip.  You won’t have to go hunting

Inside the Mikesell's Potato Chip Plant

Inside the Mikesell’s Potato Chip Plant

for half of your chip in the dip on this one.  If you love Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips and love dipping,  this is the chip for you, hands down.

— TANGY CHIPOTLE BBQ KETTLE COOKED POTATO CHIPS:  Wow, what a great flavor!  You get the patented Mikesell’s Kettle cooked crunch, and the sturdiness of a dipping chip that wont break either (we just talked about this didn’t we?).  Maybe we are tortilla happy today, but this flavoring is faintly reminiscent of the old Taco Flavor of Doritos from the 70’s/80’s.  It has that spin for sure.  We are sure you are going to love this new flavor.  In a world where people are trying to put biscuit and gravy flavor into chips, this is a refreshing innovation that actually works.  It fits.  The Tangy Chipotle BBQ flavor is great, and not a novelty.

*** HONORABLE MENTION:  Back in March, Mikesell’s released another amazing treat that quickly became one of our faves.  Salted Caramel Puffcorn Delites has been out for less than a year, and they are incredibly delicious and addicting.  If you have not tried these yet, you won’t believe how good they taste.

Well, now you have some ideas to fill the holiday snack bowls with this season.  Do yourself and Dayton a favor. Reach for the local, good stuff.  Continue to make Mikesell’s brand a part of your family parties.  The whole “buy local” thing is never more true than here.  Check out these two new products for yourself and continue to support your hometown chip company Mikesell’s, who has been supporting Dayton and local causes for over 100 years.

We bet you like the new flavors so much, you will ask Santa to bring you some….

Food Adventures with Dayton Mayor Gary Leitzell

August 29, 2013 By Dayton937 1 Comment

Dayton Mayor Gary Leitzell Enjoying a Brew at Tank’s Bar & Grill

Everyone knows that Gary Leitzell is the mayor of Dayton, but did you know that he is a foodie ??   You may find him at Tank’s on Wayne Avenue with a mini pitcher of beer discussing the history of Dayton.   You may see him munching on pizza at the South Park Tavern, talking about some of the old homes in the neighborhood & who built them.   You may catch the mayor cutting a sandwich at the Top of the Market & Deli at Webster Street.

The Big Ragu often runs into Gary Leitzell at various community events.  We have had Food Adventures with the mayor at Ghostlight Coffee and even visited with his legislative aide “Gladgirl Shelly.‘  The mayor has spent time with us at the 2nd Street Market.    We have been with him at charity events like the AMBUCS Chili Cookoff.  And, who could forget our ‘must eats’ like Oktoberfest at the Dayton Art Institute or the World A’Fair at the Convention Center.

When we see Mayor Leitzell, he always takes a moment to talk with us about Dayton and the local government’s exciting plans for the city.  Practically everything about Gary is unique.  Most of his childhood was spent in England, he has no political affiliation and fancies himself an independent.

But this is not an article on politics.   It is an article on fun and food in the Dayton area, which is what Food Adventures are all about.

Speaking of fun, here are some things you ‘gotta know’ about Dayton Mayor Gary Leitzell:

— He eats every sandwich with a fork and knife.  – Yes, hot dogs and burgers too.  Call it a good manners habit from his days in merry olde England.

—He has a blog called ‘This Old Crack House’  – Mayor Leitzell is a cool character with a great personality.  His blog documents the refurbishing of his historic home, which went from a log house to a townhouse, to a crack house and now, his house.  You gotta love a guy that has a blog called “This Old Crack House.”  Check it out HERE.

— Mayor Leitzell has a scooter.  – What better way to get to  a Food Adventure?

—  He doesn’t own a cell phone. – Gary is a person who prefers to communicate face to face or by email.  Wait a minute, how does he order carryout food?  For a guy always on the move, we find it astonishing that he doesn’t own a mobile phone.  Maybe it is a lesson to us as well.

— His favorite rock band is ‘The Who.’  – Will they play a farewell show at Courthouse Square when his term as mayor ends?  We will have our people get with your people to coordinate that one.

If there is a lesson to be learned from Mayor Leitzell it is “Be yourself.”   The mayor has a positive passion for the Dayton area and the future of the city.  He is involved with many activities, from West Side Dayton volunteer projects to creative marketing for the city.  But, you won’t see that trumpeted in a paper or in a story online.  As his term expires in January, look for him to run for a Montgomery County Commissioner seat.

So be on the lookout next time you are eating out and around Dayton.  You just may be sitting next to the mayor !

What are your top 5 Dayton area restaurants?  Comment below so we can see how you stack up with the mayor !

Chipotle vs. Qdoba: Who’d You Rather ?

July 30, 2012 By Dayton937 1 Comment

Fajita Ranchera Burrito at Qdoba

In the world of Food Adventures, we rarely hit the chains.  But once in a while, we give our spin on some familiar favorites.  How about some feedback from the thousands of Dayton Foodies out there?  That’s right, The Big Ragu and the Crew want to know what DaytonMostMetro fans think.  What do you like better, Chipotle or Qdoba and why?

Jax’s take: For me it is Qdoba for the simple fact that there are more choices.  More options mean a better variety in my effort to be more health conscious.  The tastes are similar but there are more soups, quesadillas, etc. at Qdoba.  This discussion makes me miss the Baja Fresh restaurant !

The Big Ragu’s take:  I would rather go to Qdoba for two reasons.  First, Qdoba offers a ground beef meat option, while Chipotle does not.  Also the chicken at Qdoba is white meat, while the chicken at Chipotle is a white/dark mix.  Since I am “weird” when it comes to meat, the decision is a no brainer for me.
